Should supports be completely removed from PVP
I know I can’t be alone in my frustration with the current state of MPQ, outside of all the bugs, I find Simulator (PVP) almost unplayable. It once was a place to try out new teams and work on different synergies. Now it’s just 3 v 6 every match because of supports. The supports aren’t really supports, the new ones are functioning like passive abilities Every match it’s extra board shakes, extra turns, someone is going invisible, airborne, away, or getting stunned. What is the point, what are the devs trying to prove?

They're not supposed to be there but they consistently mess it up.

the supports let players split playstyles in 3 or 4 key significant ways.
Do you want supports to enable Turn 0? Do you want supports that emphasis match damage play? Do you want supports that change how board functionis?
fundamentally do you think we should have more ways to modify how a team works beyond cover power repec? I fully acknowledge that some supports play broken etc and should be tuned and dev balanced. With that said do you think players should be able to leverage purple ap supports into a soul stone +5 winfinte? (in pvp) If you take the supports away the teams much slower and gonna take at least 40% damage.
We all remember how the game see-saws between passive focused, SAP play, match damage play "focused" play. So I'm not so quick to dismiss the value of having support options in pvp.
Unless of course we are trying to simplify game flow etc. (the devs might actually intend the issue) But I personally see supports as a design philosophy of play issue vs the mechanics are broken and don't actually improve the play experience.
edit: remember we use to be able to plus +3 the ap boost and they specifically reduced it because it enable too many turn 1 casts in relation to what how often they wanted powers to be fired.

@Phumade OP seems to be referring specifically to the "banned" supports, which are... supposed to be banned (except sometimes they're not, because the intern coded it wrong or whatever).
I guess I'm a little bit positive on the free AP supports, in the current environment. I don't think turn0 wins should be a thing, but, like, look at Cable this week. Even at 672, against Juggernaut/Sam he's dead before you can get to 9 green. In a slower overall metagame I think they'd be a lot more problematic, but where we're at now it just feels like balancing the scales a bit.
Almost everything that's not either on the banned list or a free AP support is worthless, which is a different sort of problem that should be fixed.

I'd like to see supports take a more supporting role instead of the reason the match is over after I make two moves.

I like regular pvp with supports but without leapfrog and arrow. I liked car and copter but it's worth losing them to keep the first 2 away. If I had to pick, I'd keep all supports over none of them. I find it more fun when I can actually use the supports I've built up.
Sim has been broken forever. I think sim kept the banned ones away for like 1 season. Still, I don't really notice them because every team is a win on turn 1 while the enemy team is stunned from chasm team. Everyone is running either mbaku and namor or golden Nova and iron may with chasm.

I already said it in other previous thread that supports in PVP sucks every bit of fun away... I'd suggest 1 simple solution: in PVP, only allow supports used by player, NOT AI. Done. Just like playing PVE.

That's the fix to OP's problem then -- actually ban the "banned" supports.

It's something they should be able to implement immediately. Either that or just out right disable supports in PVP. Those metas are a pain to deal with on their own. No need to add extra layer of **** on them.

They need nerfing massively. Anything that gives you a shed load of AP on turn one should be permanently banned or removed. Invisible. Away. Any kind of protection, removed

But then if 1a5 Spider-Man didn't have a ridiculous purple power then him having purple AP on start up wouldn't matter. But he does. The problems are as much with (especially) the ascended characters and some of the outlier 5s (not gonna name names but we know) than they are the Supports.
Why leave it there? Low level AI is a potent weapon on strike tile teams, Lucky and Refreshment Cart heal, Power stone and Krakoa fire free powers. If we start nerfing everything what would even be the point of these things? I encountered an ascended Abomination who I am sure was getting some cheap thrills from Gamma Rays.
Nerfing also seems difficult to do and keep these things worth caring about.
Then again, we haven't had a new Support since...? So who knows what is up with them.
