Wonder if they will add Cosmic tiles to Jeffrey the Symbiote's Eat That green ability. Would be a nice counter.

    For Boss Events At Least:

Consistently using Thanos Purple seems like the hard counter to this guy's whole set, along with someone to protect against damage (SW or Colossus) plus an AP gatherer for purple. That passive though limiting damage will make it a long fight, regardless of who you bring it seems.

The other character who may shut him down hard is Cloak and Dagger black ability. Get that 7 turn tile out to set all of his abilities to level 1. Should make him easier to deal with. Although at higher levels, limiting his passive ability to 1 also limits the amount of damage that he can be dealt per turn, so that may be counterproductive at higher levels of Galactus.

    In PvP/PvE:

Alternative win conditions like Multiple Man maybe are a better solution? Kang owns him in non-boss events but I imagine in the boss event he can't be sent away, which is normal.

Depending on how his passive is coded, I wonder if abilities that take away a % of health still can do more than the limited damage usually allowed by his passive per turn (ie Space Elsa red, etc.)?

I think the best workaround for his damage cap in PvE/boss battles will simply be people who hurt Galactus on his own turn also - should speed the match up and give more openings to take out the resulting cosmic tiles. So trappers, Maximus (probably), etc.

I think we are over thinking this. Boss events even in round 8 aren't that high of a level (400s). Even if they 'roster scale' him for this event at most he's gonna be 550 in round 8.

You can do 1/4 of his health damage per turn so at most it's going to be 4 turn kills which even 4 star Polaris/Grocket should be able to manage in round 7 and probably round 8 especially if you put the heal supports on them (can use Juggs to absorb his match damage if you have to).

Just got a $49 offer pop up that gives 100 shards of Galactus + 4 star Refreshment Cart support + 4 shards for Refreshment cart along with some ISO and other stuff.

So there's the baseline cost. 50 bucks for 100 shards which works out to $300 for 1 cover based on 600 shards per cover. Let the Whale sightings begin as it's been a while since we've had confirmed sightings :)

Still can’t see him in the unowned beneath my roster.

Not worth it. I honestly am leaning towards the "6* will kill the game" side.

Buying supports actually tends to be shockingly expensive. I bet quite a bit of that $50 is attached to the 4* support.

Oddly expensive especially considering it's been over a year since they released a support, and when I asked about it they had no specific plans for doing anything with them again. More of a "We'll look into them again after unity!" which could mean they make more, rebalance, or scrap them.

Wait 18 months until the spenders (if they even exist) get a good start for their spending. Then there will be a rare token for a while, then by 2028 you will be able to start collecting covers for them.

I will ignore their existence unless they force me into their mmr.

Oh good, I'm running out of supports that need to be brought to 5 star.

Introducing a new tier and locking acquisition of the only 6* behind purchases isn't a good look.

I've tried to be positive as much as I can over the last few months, but this is ridiculous.

Yes you can get 75 shards through the currently available quests but you can double that currently by spending money.

I don't like it. Maybe there's more to come but it's so super secret they can't tell us but that doesn't tiny kitty matter. Lack of communication speaks volumes.

And when you promise exciting new ways to collect exciting new characters... Only to deliver special offers that provide more shards than you can earn without spending it says all the wrong things.

Offers are fine but there should be at least equal chance to earn through play.

Anyway...I'm not mad, just disappointed even though I saw it coming.

I don't doubt there will be a big "pay to play" portion for Galactus covers. The current offer however, is no different to the support offers we've had in the past. If anything, they are giving the Galactus shards as a bonus.

    He's a push over.

First thing I discovered is that Polaris start of turn passive doesn't count as your turn so you can double max damage him each turn, once on her passive and then again via powers/tile matching. It means he goes down fast. Bring on the 7 stars ;)

My being upset about it is less about the comparison to other offers of lower level and more about my disappointment in what's being offered compared to what was communicated.

"But these shards just like every other character" isn't a new way to gain the character. It's my fault for assuming there would be more play, or something new, involved to gaining the rewards.
