The standard line used to be "Sure, I don't spend anything, but the game needs players like me! If I wasn't around, there wouldn't be anyone for the spenders to fight, and they'd get all bored and quit."
Well, as it turns out, we just had like two months where everybody only fought the computer and not only did nobody mind, they all preferred it! So uh...what exactly are these "customers" adding?

All that said, we do have a 1000CP store with a Rank 4 Thanos Copter in it, a Support that is supposedly getting nerfed. Mixed signals.I wish they would just get the nerf news over and done with. I guess a Friday is as good as time so they can duck out the office when the abuse comes flying in!
I bought this in a nanosecond.
The 2 Ascended 3-4s were ones I needed (I missed pulling Torch during the FF monthly quests). Plus 75 Galactus shards, 10 Classic/Latest tokens, 2 Roster slots (for those 2 ascended characters), some 4 star Doom covers and the Copter. The Copter is the only thing I didn't need so it just became 80 favorite shards.

I was wondering that! I like the look of that vault but too rich for me!

They can add value. Sheer numbers of players can be a useful metric for the Devs in promoting the game, obtaining finance etc. However if they attack the game without reasonable suggestions for improvement having never contributed anything towards making it better, we should not and nor should the Devs give their weight of opinion preference. That said, the situation wasn't healthy either with the "buy club" crowd feeling entitled. We need everybody, Devs included in the same boat and rowing together.

Around 26000 CP (and that's not including how much more I'd get by ending soft capping and somehow finding time to open and apply 15K+ standard/elite/heroic/mighty tokens) . But even if I only had a couple thousand CP I'd have done it because those 2 ascended 3s are so valuable.

In this analogy I’m probably an old man who was once rich and threw my money around enjoying the high life of VIP
Now in my veteran years I no longer spend freely and go to the coffee shop for company, remembering the happy times of free CP and complimentary covers and costumes
Galactus “you are supposed to lose!” Those were the days 😂

"Oh, well that's a lot of eyeballs, you must make a lot in advertising revenue!"
"Uh, actually we tried that a long time ago and the players got very upset, so we don't have any ads."

If they were really smart they'd find a way to monetize complaints. They'd immediately become a Fortnite-style juggernaut of gaming.

Force everyone who posts on the Forum (or Discord etc) to supply their in game name with their account or they can't post (note you could still have a different screen name but you'd need the in game name in the account details). Then when a negative comment is posted, simply set that players roster to 1 health (like the bug did that's supposedly fixed). Then if you post negative stuff you'll need to buy health packs

It might take days with the current speed of Unity and a max rate of 50 at a time
I've asked (along with many others) for a way to open more at a time. At some point soon when Unity settles down a bit more if they don't provide such a way I'm going to make a CS request to have them auto-open say all my Elite tokens (4000+) so I can just log in and apply 4000 covers. I'll have pre-set how I want my shards to go (essentially equally spread across all 3s) so that should also be waiting when I log in.

There's zero chance their servers could handle that kind of load -- they'd need to build out a series of massive datacenters that would suck up most of the power on the west coast.
How about this? Close down the forum, Discord, etc and create a 1-900 number (remember those?), where you can speak directly to a developer and berate them any way you like, for the low, low price of $9.99 per minute. It's practically a steal at that rate!

I just have to say that you have a strange strategy to me. Why hoard all of those resources and run, essentially, a 4* roster when you could be running a much stronger 5* roster?

That's how you Americans and Canadians killed Robin! So I guess, fine.

And I’m not trying to knock it in any way, just genuinely curious what advantage you see in it.

Simply not true in the hangouts I use. Most of the people who preferred it are people like me that didn't play pvp much or at all in the first place. Grinding the free covers quickly and easy is also a bigger reason. I mean how many threads and conversations are there about wanting back the seed pvp? Yep none.
