Rank 5 Support Favorites Bug

We’ve discovered an issue where, if you favorite a support and then promote it to Rank 5, you will not be able unfavorite it afterward. This means any extra shards you collect will keep being applied to that same support, even if you’d prefer to use them elsewhere.

If this has happened to your account, please contact Customer Support and we'll be able to manually unfavorite the Rank 5 support until a fix is deployed in R331. In the meantime, we will also credit the Wildcard shards you should've earned to your next support once you've favorited a new support.

Also - even if you unfavorite the support before ranking it up (it didn't show up for me when I filtered by favorite), the system will keep it favorited in the background and the next shard reward will be split between the rank 5 and the newly favortied support and it will be re-favortited.

At least that was my experience just now.

I just had this exact thing happen to me... Timing really sucks considering boss shards

    @sokun

Would it be possible to award specific support shards vs wildcard shards?

Then users could simply ask for 400 xyz shards vs the steps and timing involved to favorite and recieve wildcard shards.

Do we HAVE to contact support? Or will the shards be automatically moved when R331 drops? I don’t mind waiting if that is the case.

I'm not certain, but personally I'd contact CS. The recent history of releases equating to "something being different" seems.... patchy.

Weird. I just got the 400 shards and it took my Tinkerer to 1600 shards. I went to the Tinkerer support and was able to unfavorite it just fine. In my case I exited the Tinkerer menu after unfavoriting the support and in the main support menu I clicked on favorites and it showed I had none which was correct. Then I went back into the Tinkerer support and I leveled it from R4 to R5. I then exited to the main support menu and checked favorites again and it showed I had none.

So everything worked fine for me using those steps. You must have done something slightly differently.

Some of these bugs are platform-dependent, and others are just inconsistent overall, so you may just not have been affected.

Now get some new shards and see where they go. As far as I understand the bug, they will still be split towards Tinkerer, despite all the steps you took.

See the ‘in the background’ detail from WampaX’s post. That’s the part you missed I think.

I've ranked up 2 supports to b level 5 since this bug was reported. Was able to favorite new supports each time and I've verified that my new favorite gets the correct shards it should. I seem to be unaffected by this particular bug.

That doesn't make a lot of sense because Unity is 1 code base across all platforms instead of 3 code bases. That was sort of the whole point of moving to Unity. So the bug should be present in all platforms. It must be dependent on the order of things that get done.

I'm not sure. Performance is definitely different on different devices. I'm not seeing crashes or freezes at all.

    That makes total sense.

The difference in devices, especially Android devices is immense since there are no standards there. You could easily have 5 or 10x times the power some other players have in terms of CPU/GPU and even RAM given many players are playing on Kindles or older phones etc.

Then consider all 3 OS's (Android/Apple/PC) have different memory management which Unity has no control over at all.

Finally none of us has any idea of what someone elses connection is (Wifi only, cellular only, mixture) or what servers they are connecting to (I'd imagine servers in the US are vastly better than say servers in Australia or even Europe). I know in an early thread one player who plays on Steam said he could use a VPN and connect to servers in one country and play just fine while in another country he could not connect and play at all.

But actual game bugs like unfavoriting of shards has nothing to do with those things I just mentioned. It's a pure bug in the game logic so should affect everyone if they repeat the steps.

Hearing repports that the support tickets have been put on hold awaiting directions from the devs. I hope this means there is a better / smoother /easier solution coming along.
I can now report shards from boss (100 and 400) plus shards from (7 wins) have now been incorrectly assigned. In my situation, the only reason the last event rewards worked out was because I actually needed the hellfire shards.

hopefully we'll get a site wide update soon on this situation

Are you George R. R. Martin? Oh wait. You said 3 years, not 13.
