    You can also hold the windows key and hit Print Screen. That will save a full screen screenshot in your User Pictures folder.

    I prefer snipping because you can select the area and choose where to save the file.

    But if you need to grab something quick Windows+PrntScr will do it quick.

    For opening the snipping tool, I prefer to use the "Windows logo key + Shift + S" keyboard shortcut.

    Without knowing about the snipping tool, I did a lot of PrntScr > to image editor. I've got three screens on my desktop, so even just reducing the result of that to what I wanted took a few more clicks than the snipping tool would, I'm finding it very handy.
