Curious how many on here play MPQ on Steam. I haven't tried it as it has been my mobile "go to" game for over 10 years. But suddenly realized that not everyone plays it mobile and was curious about those on the forum who play it on Steam and wondering if there were advantages vs mobile.

Been playing on steam for last 10 years maybe longer

    Biggest thing is bigger screen

Though years ago they offered all offers for 90 percent off. That one 99 package was 10 bucks. That is why up to this year. I haven't put a penny in this game on at least 8 years

Tired it on phone and hated the same screen. I do have a new tablet. But haven't taken it on it yet

Yes. I started playing this game about 7 years before I even owned a smartphone. I may never have even heard of the game if I hadn't seen it on Steam.

I play on a Windows tablet, I think this combines the best of two worlds to enjoy this game.

Started on Steam 9 years ago, enjoy the big screen and being able to leave the game on for as long as I like.
Played it on every smartphone I've bought in the last 7 years, but it's just as a time-filler (and a backup for DDQ). Phone screen is just too small for me: I struggle to read the recent quests!
And absolutely hate MPQ rebooting every time I dare to do anything on my phone during a fight.

    Steam 4eva, phones neva!

But seriously, I've been playing on my PC since launch. It's easy to grind while watching/doing something else. I would occasionally pester the old guard about their lack of commitment to Steam and the response was usually "there aren't enough of you to be a priority". I did however get an encouraging answer to a question about achievements and cards when Broken Circle took over.

"Answer - We're interested in getting Steam achievements implemented, as many of our internal players primarily play on Steam. We'll see about getting this added to the roadmap."

That was August of 2022 though so I guess achievements never made it into the plan. Perhaps with the New Engine™.

Started at 6 month mark in this game, which I came to because I have PQ1/PQ2/Galactrix (basically Puzzle Quest 3) all on CD-rom.

Same. Only difference is I was a beta tester for Steve / Infinite Interactive and got advanced copies of those games and his other puzzle games for test purposes.

Playing only on Steam nowadays. My old eyes make me sick playing on Android.

Thanks for all the replies. I have only ever played it as a mobile game so am very interested in other thoughts. Appreciate it.

I play on steam and mobile.
I like it on PC, but the UI is absolute trash there. The support UI is particularly stupid. The search functions are slow and tedious. Firing powers is just cumbersome.
However, it’s nice with a giant screen.

The games general ui is designed and better for mobile.

So I say tablet is probably the best, followed by mobile, and Steam last. But the bonus being a large screen outweighs most of the problems for PC.

Approaching the 10 year mark on Steam. Thought about switching to Android but the screen just looks too claustrophobic to me, so Steam is the way for me.

Have always played on STEAM with my PC, though tried it on the Android a few times.
Got the PC connected to my 65" TV so it's much easier to see.

One advantage of mobile: you can delay the updates! You get a nice message asking you to Update or do it Later.
Steam just downloads any update/patch when you start the game leaving you waiting and hoping it'll be done before you run out of time for your final clear!

Major advantage on steam is a much better ui/graphics, but not having it mobile on phone is a big downside for convenience sometimes. (I don't own SteamDeck)

    Thanks for all the help.

Not sure how to do a screen shot on steam. Unless I could just email them one of my steam purchase

So if my name on steam was bob and started in mobile and did bob 2

    Would say
Steam. Name bob has 513 people
Moble name bob 2. Have 5

Name and account I want to keep bob

On steam press f12 in game for an in game screenshot. But, that won't give you a screenshot of your history.

If you are on windows hit the Windows key and type "snipping" and open the Snipping Tool.
Or press the start button and type "snipping".

    On steam go to
Account Details -> View Purchase History

Use the snipping tool and select + New (click hold and drag the selected area) to take a screenshot of your purchase history.
