Hero pts Vs. Recruit Character Cost

Its 1 thing to make offers for in-game consumables and quite another to **** your customers of their Hero pts for recruit spaces. A single character here and there(weeks apart or more or more) would be acceptable(as to give some time to earn the needed hero pts to recruit them). Today I was asked for (today isn't done yet either) nearly 10,000 hero points for the recruit spaces to procure the characters I earned from the previous day's rewards. There should more parody between the ways to earn hero pts the demands of the game(of which you control), You are pricing players out of your game sirs. PLEASE show us (your loyal customers) that you care more about us than taking more money out of our pockets to line your own. In short too many new characters vs the hero pts needed to purchase the recruit slots for them. Slow your role. You don't need to get rich off of ALL of us in 1 day(not to mention that the number of characters you even able to introduce from the comics are finite and you are burning thru them at an astounding rate). New players may have a more difficult time than higher level players and loose interest(I am) from the EVER rising cost of playing only to quit. We should AT LEAST have chance to earn said hero pts or reduce the cost of recruit slots. I know there will be all kinds of players running to defend you, that doesn't mean you are right. Remember that. No-one is perfect, take a little advice ... it may prove advantages. Players let me know if you think it should cost less to recruit characters or the release of new characters be slowed(half dozen a day is too many) or is it O.K. to dump characters on us until they can't and it may take years to get said characters. I prefer to get them and have them at a low level than to get the covers at random and get the new characters over a long period (as you can use low level characters in events and can't if you don't have at all). Sorry for rambling. Tell me what you think of all this ?

Roster slot costs (hero points) has been a thing forever in this game. Believe it or not, it was FAR worse in days gone by than it is today despite there being WAY more characters.

You say you need 10000 hero points so I'll assume you are at the point where roster slots cost 1000. That means you got 10 new characters. How did you get that many new ones in 1 day? Are you opening tokens (something you should never ever do if you can't roster a new character) or did you get them some other way (vault pulls which you should also hold off on)?

Just sell off the covers for ISO. We've all been there in the early part of the game. A single sold cover isn't that big a deal in the long run. On the other hand if you are getting ascended characters (like a 3 star ascended to a 270 4 star) then those you should roster even if you have to sell off a lesser character (some lower level 2 or 3 star).

So you say it is my fault for opening covers I earned ? slots are 1200 btw. And selling 1-2-3 star characters is robbing Peter to pay Paul. Nice try !

He's just giving you the standard (and good) advice that is given to all players when they ask about roster slots. Don't open tokens unless you have HP to buy a roster slot, otherwise you're going to waste alot of covers. If you want to ignore good advice and waste covers that's your prerogative

earned covers are time limited, my point was the cost of slots doesn't line up with the time it would take to earn the points to recruit(at the rate they are coming from normal game play). Reality is this, I had to spend3K of saved points, then bought something from the offers tab that gave me another 6K and I got all the characters I had earned. then the game gave me 5 more(I really only need to buy 3 as 3 were the same character), I have another 3600 to spend in the next 13 days. 3 day tourn = 330 pts. 30 deadpool daily's = 1350, all told in a month 10x 3-day tournaments and 30 days of deapool dailies get you 1680, so the characters I paid for today would have taken over 5 months to earn(way beyond 2 weeks), I remind you all I earned these in 1 day. and I still have another 3600 to cover the covers I earned. I have never seen that many characters in 1 day b4 so you have to admit its overkill to say the least. No ? I cannot stress enough that there is no parody there, one or the other has to change. I guess i forgot to mention that I have been playing now for 2850 days now so I( am not a new player and this is a new prob as I used to float with about 6K hero pts, 800 command pts and over 4Million in ISO (i don't count the support ISO (I have over 4Million as well), been like that for at least the last3-4 years ... until today so I'm not imagining this nor am I a new player, up until this I think I was way ahead of the curve(doing fairly well). again it was a nice try.

In all reality all I asked was what do all think of the situation we all are in with regards to the cost of character slots and hero pts earned. Wasn't really looking to hear advice about my game play, what works for you may not work for others. Does no-one think anymore ? Please READ and UNDERSTAND what I'm trying to say and not go off topic. Thanx !

I sort of read this post.
It would be better if you formatted your posts so it doesn't look like diarrhea on the page.

The early game is about resource management, and if you don't want to spend money then it sucks and can be very slow.
Don't open your covers and clear everything you can every event. You will earn the HP slowly and use that to open roster slots.
Save your taco tokens, then open them until you get the HP from the taco vault. Don't open them daily.
You do not have to roster everyone until you are farther in the game. Do not roster a lot of characters that you can't use.

If you are at 1000 per roster slot you must be deep enough into this game roster wise and game knowledge wise, so how this has suddenly come as a huge shock to you is a bit baffling.

Growth in this game is a curve, not a straight line. Be careful about what you let on your vine and don't treat every cover as indispensable. The faucet will keep flowing.

You neglect to mention that there are other ways to earn HP beyond the deadpool daily's and 3 day events? Are you participating in both PVE and PVP? Are you not earning regular HP from your champions on your roster? Are you not acquiring HP in some of the monthly vaults? For example: the current Xmen vault has 1,000 HP in it to be earned.

Also what does your roster look like? Is this an ascension / duplication issue because I'm equally puzzled how you've gone from having a surplus of HP, CP and ISO to suddenly having too little HP for roster slots? I can't even remember the last time I had a surplus of ISO.

We all have different schedules, gameplay, roster management but for comparison I'm at day 1132 with 351 roster slots so just about at the point of parity in terms of slots compared to characters in the game. I'm also a free-to-play player so haven't sped up my progress through real-money spending.

In terms of 100% completion it's a lengthy game and that might be off-putting for new players but there'll also be players that relish that challenge, there'll also be new players that play the game much more casually. However as a long-term player you must see that through various rewards that they've made it easier for newer players to earn rewards / bridge the gap?
Even in my relatively short time playing the game (three years) I can see that the rewards on offer are higher than they were when I first started out?

I can sympathise with newer players finding it challenging but for longer-term players I don't really see it as an issue. Once you reach the point of roster slots costing 1,200 you should have a roster that earns you a good share of rewards in addition to the events.

There is 4k HP in the Taco vault alone. Any players who are deepish in the game should have plenty of champions all of which give HP as champ rewards.

Blowing HP on PvP will help you stay poor, as will blowing HP on tokens. Ask me how I know! I was "iso+" years before I was over the hump on HP.
