    The solution would be to enable for ascended characters to choose at which * they will be played. E.g. you had two level 370 4* copies and ascended to one level 475 5*. If there was a posibility to play it as 370 4* or 475 5* in battles, it would be allways good to ascend (which is what I thing it should be - you should never regret ascention). In the same way for 3* ascended to 5* you should be able to play it as 266 3*, 370 4* or actual level 5*, similarly for 2* and 1*.

    I think in that case you could just roster extra versions. Even if you think some guy gets worse as you ascend them (I still disagree) how many characters are actually on that list? Should they really implement this whole new big feature just for Iron May?

    You can lower the % on GR because it is based on damage dealt, and at some point a lower % of a bigger health pool still downs every character in the game (ok maybe not a 5IM40, lol)... GR was designed to punch up, so it would make sense that he doesn't need the higher % at 5* as there is no 6* to punch up too. Shifting more budget to health actually makes him slightly better when he is closer to max hp (as a %).

    It might be as easy as getting a dev to come in and explain the why on these two characters, is there a loop they are promoting that so far people are seeing (like you see with GR)? Maybe, but staying moot on a 160post thread on ascension winners and losers might not be the best strategy. Clearly this topic has attention. Maybe the announcement posts just need a quick paragraph explaining the acending changes by level?

    They absolutely need to give us a way to see these characters' stats in game. As far as explanations, who knows. They sorta stopped doing that in general -- we used to get a reasoning for rebalanced characters, and now we barely get an announcement.

    It’s silly. It shouldn’t be a guessing game of what changes will occur ascending a character. I especially dislike the AP fluctuations with powers.
    % based powers getting nerfed like Mays yellow and GR black is nonsensical. Someone mentioned glass cannons except at their base level they’re not glass cannons, so by comparison they are better inside their own tier then they are at max tier. Why bother ascending for a worse version of them? They get 5 match damage and health…and suck. There shouldn’t be punishment to ascending yet there continues to be exactly that.
