Has there ever been a pay (cash) vault
I don't ever recall seeing one
Not sure if it's even set up for it
Say like 10 item vault
Has a few 1 star accended to 5s
Maybe even 2 star or even 3 star accended to 5. Maybe 5 star with 1 of each cover.
Each pull 29.99 (more or less)
Has there ever been a pay real cash vault
(pretty sure they all been hp)
If mod wants to merge this with another topic they can just didn't want to get off topic in another's )

I don't think there has. But you can just buy HP. Those types of vaults would be unlikely to entice anyone with huge amounts of surplus HP to spend actual cash.

10 item
8 items 1 star accended to 5
1 2 star accended to 5
1 3 star accended to 5Say
1 pull 29.99
10 pulls 249.99It cost more then a basic 1 star pushed to 5 but there is a chance you could get a 2 or 3. Or higher (doubt higher for 30)
Could be a once a year Xmas thing
It would force people to buy instead of hoard though doubt it happen cause people would say this turn the game into pay to win
Just think of all those one star accended juggies running loose lol

What you are describing would basically be loot boxes and very close to gambling, such that it would run into regulations against such things in various countries.
Using cash for something specific? That’s fine.
Using ingame currency you can earn or buy for random chance pulls? Also fine.
Using cash for random pulls? (And it’s the only way to get more.) Nope.

Could you then get around that very easy
Sell keys to the vault
1 key 29.99
10 keys for 249.99It would be the same as selling hp cause you are using that to pull random **** from vaults

Assuming these keys you’re describing are vault-specific and not able to be earned for free, it’s the same as cash (just with an extra step) so it would run into the same issue. And I doubt players would be very receptive to such a mechanic anyway.
There is no appetite for spending over 99.99 on anything in game in one shot.
If the devs tried to push something like that in, it would start to feel much more PTW and push away a lot of folks while taking advantage of people who are vulnerable to gambling mechanics.

They have kind of done this but not in that specific way. They've had vaults that require tokens where the only way to get the tokens was to buy offers that included them in the bundle.

I forgot about the Black Friday vault. I am only back since October and can’t be sure if they did it before that.
Given recent history it seems those types of things didn’t deliver the way they hoped.
Also, including tokens like that with other covers and things is viewed more as a bonus pull than anything else. Hence won’t run into those regulations I mentioned.

Yeah, you don‘t want things in your game that come close to gambling, some countries really react allergic to that.
Can make games get banned, didn’t Netherlands ban some games for that?0 -

The whole point of in-game currency is to obfuscate the real world value/cost of things, and to sidestep gambling concerns. After all, you can "earn" the in-game currency for FREE, right? wink, wink.
So no, no cash automat in MPQ ... yet.
THey did use to have buy-in events, pay your cash--er, HP, for a shot at better rewards. THat was a LONG time ago tho ... late 2013, early 2014. Maybe no relevance to the OP, just a random association!

It was just the one buy-in event. The reward was one of every cover in the game (the actual reward was massive, massive bragging rights, essentially the title "Champion of MPQ"). They never ran it again.
The players who finished at the top of that event innovated all the shield-hopping/coordination techniques and shorthand notation that are still used today in everybody's battle chats (the only thing they didn't work out was cupcakes/grilling/fondue/whatever food metaphor the kids are using today...that came much later, from about the last player you'd expect...but that's another story).

Only once? I would have sworn 2 or 3. But that was a couple months before I was initiated into the meta game. Shouldn't have taken that pill ...

I looked for the thread but couldn't find it-- it's on here somewhere. In those days every event got its own thread. I think people used to post the leaderboards of regular PvPs on here!

I was wrong, you were right. They ran it twice! I don't remember the second one though, maybe it was less interesting?
