I also got Ultron shards along with the Victor Mancha shards. Is that new? I can't remember if they awarded secondary feeder shards in these types of scenarios.Same, in fact I got the same amount of Ultron as Victor. No complaints but I don’t recall that being the case previously.

I’m really curious about the back end of this. Like how/why is it tied to that 7 day log-in period. it may have to be my monthly Q/A question as I’m genuinely curious.
That or I want to ask why locking Omega Red’s stupid tile doesn’t stop a new one from spawning.

Does this mean I can finally ascend Rocket and Red Hulk without fear of losing retro awards? I think, yes?Yup. I've amended the statement to clarify:
Our aim of this amended policy is to avoid deterring players from using the Champions 2.0 feature so characters who currently do not have feeders will also benefit from retro rewards in the future should they already be ascended.

Thank you.
And thanks for adding Support Shards to the PVPs.

I be lucky to move a 4 star into 5 star land by the year 2050. I don't think I have a single 4 star max.. people mudt really been playimg hard core to got that many 4I don't think I even have a 3 star high enough to merge
so no worries here
To be fair, t50 everything pretty much gets it done. That's usually my goal and I do pretty well.

@S0kun Can you explain why this 7 day policy was not applied to Daken and Psylocke? They reverted today, on day 4. Based on your publicly posted policy here and in the announcement section, I was planning to ascend Daken tomorrow evening. Now I’m all of a sudden missing expected rewards.
Please stick to your policies as posted and if you have to deviate, give us ample warning. This sucks.

I was about to ascend Daken this morning and realized the rewards had shifted. It was not what I was expecting.

Doesn't make any sense to me. If I'm reading it correctly, the new system automatically does the ascended retro rewards, but only for 4 days instead of 7. This helps CS who didn't have to do anything? Did they just have to flip a switch on and then off for psylocke?

So the "fix" of making the retro period 4 days instead of 7 has been done to make sure that players don't benefit from accidentally extended periods of retro availability and get, say, some iDoom covers and shards when ascending 3 Doom months after iDoom was released. Oops, players might have fun finding an easter egg that gives them a few extra covers out of the hundreds they need to ascend and level the character.
This game is insanely diluted with 364 characters and you're making it harder to take any advantage of ascension (and a double dip if you happen to be have two copies ready to ascend) by shortening the window to just 4 days. You can just say you don't like players getting extra covers for new characters if they decide to favorite the dupe, then ascend and get those extra covers.
You have already implemented a policy of not telling us feeders until the character is released so we couldn't move favorites to someone and get rewards from them before the new rewards change happens and double-dip there.
On the one hand, I get it. It's a business and you sell digital goods and making it possible to get more digital goods for free with some savvy and knowledge means maybe, in some bean counter's mind, we spend less on covers later.
But I assume most players NEVER spend cash directly on covers alone, as your constant production of costumes suggests, and most people are looking for a package of goods to get them to open their wallet that's more than a few covers for a new character. (like a costume bundle, that's more appealing as a purchase than just say 1 cover for the new 4 alongside some other stuff I can get anywhere. Or maybe a solid chunk of HP. Or a support. etc. the non-habitual whales are picky spenders)
And ascension etc means your total lifetime need for covers for a character is far more than the few you might get from a double-dip, whether it was from knowing a feeder pre-release and focusing, or focusing post-release for one single week and seeing if you can get a few extra covers from the ascended copy.
It is FUN to champ a character fast, within the window of release. But you want to make it harder and make the game less fun and turn the screws to try to force purchases.
It will NOT make me change my purchase behavior around the character and their covers. I'm not about to spend cash on simply covers for a new character as there are hundreds of them to worry about. No matter how good they are, I won't. I do spend on costumes I like and some other high value cover bundles.
This whole thing just demoralizes me a bit more.

@bluewolf - When you double dip, you are never 'putting one over on the man' (Devs). That's because you aren't taking anything from them (unless somehow that double dip stops you from a 1 time unique purchase) and you are never in direct competition with the Devs for anything.
On the other hand when you double dip you are putting one over on the rest of the player base because you are getting something the rest of the player base can't get due to unique circumstances (the retro window). That's because you ARE in direct competition with all the other players for the various placement rewards.
Anyway 4 days is plenty of time to log in to get your retro feeders. Virtually anyone who posts here logs in daily so that's not going to be a problem for forumites (or regular players either). If you feel the need to 'put one over on the player base' by double dipping 4 days is also plenty of time to pull some tokens and do cover swaps provided you keep an appropriate stash of tokens/HP on hand. In fact it's never been easier thanks to the swap feature.

@KGB
95% of anyone this affects logs in within the first few days so what you're saying is pretty accurate.4 -

Couldn't have said this any better.
A long time ago one of the "pillars" of the Line community told me that MPQ isn't a competitive game at all -- it's not PvP or PvE but it's actually "players vs developers" (the goal being that all players should work together to "put one over on the man"), and wow, what better way to sum up the overall attitude of that group.

Wise words from kgb here, although he could be a corporate shill who would sell your nans house for the promise of some magic beans
Now is that the case here?...its not for me to sayI'm in a deeply silly mood today and just posting nonsense to amuse myself

Don't players get enough free stuff already? And this is like still free stuff just less time to get it. Seems a weird hill to die on to me.
