Seriously D3? An event end time rant

Also, if you want to be heard, it would help to make the thread title a bit more meaningful.
With all these complaint threads going on, people need to know what specific bit you're complaining about when looking at the title.
Maybe add (Please change PVE end times) to it?0 -

PvE events, especially those with a new character as a reward, will almost always end between 9pm and midnight, depending on your location in the US. I will admit it might not be perfect for some people, maybe those with children for example, but it's infinitely better than it ending at 5am like it does here in the UK. Staying up till midnight for a final push in an event is a lot easier to do than getting up at 4am to do the same thing, especially when you have a wife who will kick me in places I don't want to be kicked if I woke her up to do that.0 -
@daveypitch
You can always try and also get some other magazine reviewers to join in. I can't be sure if the recent compensation was because the devs suddenly went soft-hearted or because I tweeted one of the journalists who earlier wrote a glowing story about MPQ. I gave her the link the forum thread about the wonky server and how it affected PVE and PVP.0 -

I am a European based game reviewer (freelance), and I don't think my opinion or any review I might write would mean anything to them.0 -

Indeed, out of all the issues that have come up in the last few months:
- Unfair sharding
- Brackets of death
- PvE scaling
- Server meltdowns
etc. etc. It is ONLY the fact that the game makes me wake up at 4am in order to be competitive that makes me want to leave it behind. I've stopped putting my alarm on for it now because my Wife was getting extremely unhappy about it, so now I go to sleep with my mobile in my hand set to 'vibration' function in the hope it'll wake me up... otherwise it's almost guaranteed I'll drop out of top reward brackets.
I used to do this kind of stuff for other mobile games, but in them it tended to be once every fortnight at most. At the moment it's EVERY OTHER DAY that you're ending events at this time. At least in PvP I can get a high score and shield (and hope) but for PvE its get up or lose out.0 -
Yes, the ending times are an insult to the EU players, and we need to continue complaining about it, only then there is a chance that something will change!
At the moment, with so many veteran players and Alliances quitting is the best chance!
And after too many 5am wake ups to have a chance, this will surely soon bring me to stop playing for good.
Again, move the times 2-3h later, that would be 8-9am (before work if wanted) and pm (after work) ending times, easy solution! And it is a requirement to also let the FINAL missions end for EU players at an convenient time, not only a subevent, at best!!!0 -

Moving the event end times a few hours later wouldn't help much, and it would hinder US players. I don't particularly want that. All I want is parity. If they release a new character in a PvE that ends at 5am UK time, release the next character in a PvE that ends in a more EU-friendly time. Hell, how about scheduling a PvP which features the new character as a reward, and target the end time for EU players.
At the moment every new character (that I remember) over the past few months has been released in a PvE that ends in a US-friendly time. It makes me, as a UK player, feel like a 2nd class citizen that D3 don't give a toss about. I know I'm not as well known or respected as guys like TheLadder, Nemek and the rest, but I'm a long time player (over 200 days now) and I'm starting to feel incredibly resentful towards D3. That is not good for them. In most games, I either enjoy the game enough to play it, or I don't. I tend not to think too much about the developers. MPQ is the only game I can think of that I play where the devs seem to take centre stage over the actual game itself, intentionally or otherwise.
The real shame of it all is that I actually do really enjoy the game when it's done right. When a PvE scales properly, and has a good storyline, I could play for hours and enjoy every minute of it. When I get sharded into a competitive (but none-death) bracket, I enjoy the challenge of playing against rosters of a similar strength to mine. The forum is filled with so many good ideas that could make this one of the best mobile games in existence, yet the devs seem intent on alienating half of their playerbase with rewards that are incredibly difficult to get because of the end times, while ignoring the multitude of great ideas put forward almost daily. I've already decided to take my money elsewhere, and unless things change for the better soon, I fear my time will soon follow it.0 -
I'm looking forward to the end times of the subs of the current PVE:
1st: 8pm CET
2nd: 10pm CET
3rd: midnight CET
4th: 2am CET
5th: 4am CET
6th: 6am CET
I mean, I'm used to 6am, I can get up at 5 and grind, but 2am and 4am will be killer.0 -
Why aren't there ever any threads complaining that Euro players can grind a PvP in the morning unmolested, because everyone else is still sleeping?0

DaveyPitch wrote:Yet another new character released in a PvE event, and yet again it finishes at a time that is horrible for European players and instead virtually perfect for your US players? How about, just once, releasing a new character in a European friendly tournament and not making us feel like you don't give a toss about us? It's getting to be pretty tinykitty ridiculous now.
The problem is not when the event ends. The problem is that points are awarded more favorably the longer you wait and the closer you are to the end. Once again, D3 needs to make PVE - PVE. Make awards for pve all progression, get rid of pvp scoring in pve and you can easily fix this.
If you didn't have rubber banding, end time wouldn't matter. If you had fixed points where people who put in enough time can get the new shiny characters through progression, then it would make it much easier to fix these pve/scaling issues
Please consider for future events.0
