Seriously D3? An event end time rant

Yet another new character released in a PvE event, and yet again it finishes at a time that is horrible for European players and instead virtually perfect for your US players? How about, just once, releasing a new character in a European friendly tournament and not making us feel like you don't give a toss about us? It's getting to be pretty **** ridiculous now.

PVE has _always_ ended at 6am, I don't expect this to change, _ever_.
Best we can hope for is a two-fold heroic with part two ending at a friendly time.
Accept it, move on. It won't change.

This is just another step in the internal D3/Demi game of seeing how much they can gently caress the backsides of their players before they cry uncle and quit.

Midnight EST is not "virtually perfect" for anyone who has kids or a job they have to get up for the next day. I have lost more covers and HP in PVE after 11pm when I go to bed than I care to think about.

I agree you are in a worse spot. The times should be different every time, giving different players the ability to compete.

Also, am I wrong, or is the sub ending after 25 or 26 hours (1 or 2pm EST)? That's new.
  • I've had many sleepless night because of PvEs, but I prefer 6 am here than 6 pm on a business day. I can't play as much on a business day.

PvEs ending on Saturday night (US)/Sunday morning (Europe) would be better I think.

I think it's more about how points are awarded over the entire duration from PvEs and less about when the event ends (though I know that's part of it).

I have to wake up at 5 am EST for my job, so staying up until Midnight EST is just not possible.

For the Simulator I grinded nodes three times a day (5 am, 11 am, 4pm and sometimes 9pm) for the entire tournament. I wasn't expecting top 10, but I REALLY wanted top 50....

Grinded one more time last night until 9:30 PM and then I couldn't stay up any later. Went to bed 24th... woke up top 75.

It's just the nature of the way they spread out points. If you can't play for the last 3 hours of most of the PvEs you're basically out of luck.
I missed out on HT in a similar fashion.

I didn't even bother with Sentry (and lucked out)... I just enjoyed the ISO and story and left it at that (made it a much more enjoyable experience)

Patch has been designed and in the code for a *long* while, but without some key things to make him work if someone managed to hack him in ahead of time. We do the same for any other implemented but unreleased characters. Him having been around a while is also why he's a third Wolverine and not a new character. We originally planned less characters, more alts. Post launch we quickly saw that the opposite would be the better way to go for the forseeable future. Patch, I believe, is the last relic of the Character Clone Wars. Doesn't mean we won't do alts in the future, but new characters will be far more common than them.

Thats from the Patch thread. What happened to this??? All we have seen since this are more lazy characters than actual new ones.

We shouldn't have to accept it, D3 will never change anything if we don't make our complaints heard.

(Though they might notice if enough people cut their money feed to show up on charts.)
  • My seriously comments:

    Increased pack costs
    Reduced rewards
    Reduced 3* odds
    Lazy carbon copy characters

    ...

and still no Norman Osborne (Iron Patriot) or Deadpool in a game subtitled "Dark Reign." Seriously!

I've been playing since Ragnarok was overpowered and OBW was just a glimmer in D3P's eye, and I gotta say y'all are ratcheting up my definition of ridiculous. Are y'all trying to see just how much the fan base can take? I mean, I admit ... I'm an idiot addict who has more money than sense. But if I didn't, I'd be dumping you like a celibate girlfriend.
  • how is 11 pm and 11am perfect times for the USA, i mean its better than 3 am and 3 pm, but its not ideal

At least 11pm is likely working -- most EU gets 5 or 6 AM/PM that is consistently sleep and work time. "Ideal" is bad choice of words really but you get the general idea.

If this attitude was adopted for everything what sort of society would we be living in? I will moan like billy goat about end times as it is just such an easy thing to fix to make right for every timezone.

@dptj05, I too have to be up at 5am for work and would much rather be to go to bed at 11pm than have no sleep at all so I can play until the end. Heck I cant even use a 3 hour shield.

I really see no reason to have separate end times that people can opt into. Just have one for the EU players that ends at 10 PM for +0 GMT time zone.

Let us all contribute to any global scores, have us all play for the same amount of time (EU tournaments would start and end earlier than NA) and everyone gets to sleep. let the timezone be an option menu choice that cannot take effect until the next tournament.

this won't be considered because the amount of work put in wouldn't result in enough money to make it seem appealing

kind of like how city environment won't be fixed even though that would take maybe 10 minutes of discussion, compared to a months worth of discussion for a magneto nerf

but **** we gotta do that one first

What are you talking about? I'm all for this. I even get another 3* character that will eventually be added to standard and heroic packs making it harder for me to obtain the covers I actually need.

I'm just disillusioned because people have been moaning about this for _months_ and nothing changed.

Also, if you want to be heard, it would help to make the thread title a bit more meaningful.
With all these complaint threads going on, people need to know what specific bit you're complaining about when looking at the title.
Maybe add (Please change PVE end times) to it?

You just have to start tweeting European based game reviewers and ask them to review MPQ.

I am a European based game reviewer (freelance), and I don't think my opinion or any review I might write would mean anything to them.

I actually don't know what I feel more angry about - the fact that in all the months people have been moaning about it, nothing has been done, or the simple fact that D3 have never (that I've seen) even acknowledged it as a real problem. If D3 want the game to be fair to everyone who plays it, and you would assume they would want that, then it shouldn't penalise people based on where they live.
