Equality for all Chasm players !
The stun behavior at the start of battle with Chasm mirror match remains consistent unequal between 2 group of players.
To elaborate, here is 2 possible scenarios at start of battle with Chasm mirror match.
Scenario 1
The stuns cancel out, no stun effect on opponent side and player gets 1 turn.
Scenario 2
The stuns don't cancel out with stun effect on opponent side and player gets 2 turns.
So, what is the big deal here for the non-privilege Chasm player ?
1 less turn to deal extra damage against your opponent and 1 extra turn for opponent defensive ability to kick in.
Example :
Versus Colossus , 1 less turn against non-preservation passive. Versus Scarlet , 1 less turn with no damage reduction and she able to store damage with her repeater 1 turn earlier. Versus Immortal Hulk, Green Door happens 1 turn earlier.
You can fill the blank with any passive related characters.
Privilege players get 2 turns of extra offense and defense.
So, where is the inequality ?
If, privilege Chasm player = Group 1 and non-privilege Chasm player = Group 2.
Group 1 versus Group 1, will result in Scenario 2 with stun effect.
Group 1 versus Group 2, will result in Scenario 2 with stun effect.
Group 2 versus Group 1, will result in Scenario 1 without stun effect.
Group 2 versus Group 2, will result in Scenario 2 with stun effect.
Before any forumite falls their chair, positional and character selection got nothing to do with the different results. Oddly, you're in group 1 or you're not, simple as that.
To developer, can you please fix this. Chasm released 6 months ago, can we all have the same charming experience ?

I kind of am falling off my chair! I remember this being raised not long after Chasm “broke” MPQ on his debut and, if I recall correctly, the general consensus was that position dictates stun priority. I’ve never had an issue with Chasm’s stun, but don’t doubt your experience.
So, a segment of the Chulk’s out there aren’t even operating at maximum efficiency? It should be fixed, but Lord help me, if it happens.

We do all have the same experience. It all has to do with where you and the opponents place their Chasm.
If you place your Chasm on right & opponents Chasm is on:
- Right: Both teams are stunned and attacker gets 1st match.
- Left: Defensive team is stunned & attacker gets "2 matches" to start.
If you place your Chasm on left & opponents Chasm is on:
- Right: Attacking team is stunned & opponents team gets "2 matches" to start.
- Left: Both teams are stunned & attacker gets 1st match.

I wrote that line on purpose. If you're experience the same result every mirror match, you're in group 1 and you can't replicate the same result.
Following inconsistent was bought to attention in Discord and Reddit upon release. Developer acknowledged and was aware of it. Yet, 6 months later, nothing is done, thus I started the thread.
If you still want measure and find reasons why such and such, please do so. It will not change anything for players in group 2.

I definitely get inconsistent behavior. It is my opinion that attacker should get priority over defending Chasm regardless of position conceptually.

Interesting. Thought this wasn't an issue after it was determined that position placement mattered. Good videos but they'd be better of they also show the defensive team's Chasm position going into the matches because the position of the defensive team's Chasm also has an impact on who gets stunned. Without seeing the position of both teams going into the fight, it's difficult to see that there's an issue.

It's not position based, it's the player you're up against. I done the 9 possible placements with another player before to confirm a long time ago. Not going to ask and do it again, plus 6 months of playing is more than enough.
You can test it out on the same opponent if you like. If you have stun effect on player X, try switching, you always stun regardless. Because I'm not in group 1; I can't say for sure, other than confirmation from other players. IF you manage a different overcome, that's another inconsistent between the 2 groups then. If like me in group 2, find a player you can't stun and try switching, you'll not be able to stun regardless of positions. That I can say with certainty, heck it's my reality with 2 accounts... actual and sandbox.
Anyhow, the 6 videos above defensive Chasm on the left. More than enough coverage to conflict what you listed.

If this is acting as op is stating it is a clear bug and should be looked at.
I can’t replicate so I’d not know but if there is a b squad for Chasm im not there.

It would be great if this issue would be addressed also.
