This is the current quandary with the game isn't it.And ultimately this is an issue that players both rookie and experienced alike face at the same time.For the experienced gamers the threshold of 300 roster slots increasing to 2k HP in price is the issue. We aren't at 300 characters yet for sure. But we will be there soon especially if we are gonna be getting at least 3 new characters a month. And some people are already there as they like to have duplicate 3s or keep from selling off their hard earned champ 4s.But just to put it in writing for those that may not have considered it yet. Lets say when this game does get to 300 unique characters and you are somebody that only keeps 1 of each character in this instance. We have 3 new characters coming out each month by that point. You are used to only spending 2k HP a month to roster the new 4 and 5. Now you will be spending 6k HP a month to roster the new 3, 4 and 5.For the new gamers its more dire. At lower levels they already are getting less HP. But the issue becomes more about dilution on their end as well.You reach 1k HP for a roster slot in the 75-80 range. When you consider that there are nearly 200 4s and 5s in the game that is barely getting you started into the 4s. And now you have 3 new characters coming out a month.There are several issues here. The first being that there are so many 4s in the game that the odds of you getting one that will require a new roster slot is pretty high early in the game. As we get more 4s the odds of a newer gamer needing more roster slots early goes up as does the amount of undercovered 4s just sitting there unused the majority of the time. So what are your options? Let the covers waste, only open when you can afford a roster slot or buy HP. Nobody wants to waste covers. Waiting until you can afford a roster slot will now be slower because they have new 3s as well. And of course that leaves us with buying HP.Another issue here that many may not have realized yet is the covers being given away in alliance events. Is anybody gonna sell a new 5 they get as reward? Most will keep those characters. But that certainly doesn't help the roster slot issue for newer gamers. As before 5s weren't an issue for many because they would just wait until they have slots. But when they are given to you...I liken it to winning a sports car on a game show and being unaware that you get taxed on it as if it were income and that you have to pay state/federal taxes, registration and increased insurance on it. So depending on where you live you might be looking at having to pay 40-50% the value of the car and that free car while still a good thing is now nowhere near being free.And ultimately its an in-game economy. But economies change as the factors change. Why did they choose 75 roster slots as the spot to where it would go to 1k HP? Why did they choose 300 roster slots as the spot to where it would go to 2k HP? I'm sure the factors that went into picking those thresholds have long since passed as more and more characters have come into the game.Rant over. My suggestions.Scale the entire cost of slots upwards. Instead of going to 1k HP at 75 slots make that 125. Instead of going to 2k HP at 300 slots make that 350. Seems necessary to me so that newer players can still work on getting existing characters while collecting the new ones. And so that older players don't feel punished for wanting to have dupes of certain characters. I also think this would help beginners to the game stick around.Another suggestion I have is using the Quests feature more in a way that promotes new content and alleviates some of the HP pressure. For example you could have a monthly or weekly quest feature in addition to daily and milestones. Or they could do something like participation in featured events or with newer loaned characters that they are trying to promote. The weekly or monthly quest could be to complete x amount of quests that week or month. And it could reward an amount of HP in addition to a small amount of other resources such as Spicy tokens, shards or ISO.When it gets to the point where $20 worth of HP only gets you enough slots to roster 1% of the characters on the game that is an issue in my eyes.9

I've been playing for a long while and don't mind an HP squeeze. It might limit how many vaults I can buy out, but that's all. If they need to squeeze the player base, the ones with 300+ slots can stomach it the easiest. That said, there's gotta be way more money to be made by squeezing new players. The risk is that it pushes them away as well. They've said resource adjustments are coming, I hope it helps the new player out.
Mandatory spending just to keep up doesn't feel good. They should sweeten the deal. Why can't roster slots be bundled with cp and covers too? Need a new slot for this weeks character? Get extra #shards of him with this slot bundle! Make one bundle purchasable with HP, and a more enticing one for $$$. Tie the number of slots you have to an incremental multiplier of some sort. A realistic milestone (no doubling!), like every 5 new slots gets a thing (This kind of exists in 3/4/5 champ milestones).1 -
My wish for HP or roster slots is no one.
Please it's needed to keep in mind that while all f2p are scared to death with more incoming characters releases, this game is business and they are not represented as the rightful majority at all, or in any case they are not holders at directive meetings, more kind of like the opposite.
If a better service is wanted, everyone knows what is needed to do, it's egotistical to expect that others will do for you, and you can fool yourself saying that you support the game in other ways: there are no other ways.
The faster release will affect long time players with many dupes: they will need to adapt to.
The faster release won't affect new players: a new player won't spend all the money needed to roster all characters on their first year, they will follow other paths like to specialize in a meta character, to not open many tokens, or to sell covers.
After saying all these politically incorrect things, I see fine to increase the 2k cap number, if it was at 300 characters a few years ago and they are planning to release a lot more, then increase the number to 360, no retroactive compensations.1 -

I would say that I am more concerned by an expanding ISO-void than the HP costs. I have just hit 300 slots today with Spidey Oscorp so yet to pay the 2k cost, but I earn 3k+ per week so I think it'll be okay.
What is not looking good are my chances to reduce the number of 4's that are waiting on ISO. I currently have ~40 champed, but there are easily another 40+ that are covered and just waiting on ISO. Adding a new 3-star each month just means there is another mouth to feed.
