So I have 77 LLs and 7.8k CP and I am debating what to do when Odin enters LLs.  Below is my roster:

Ronan 0/1/1- 480 shards
Electro 1/0/0 - 380 shards
Odin 0/0/0 - 380 shards

What do you think?

Edit - All Metas Champed, working on early 5*s as a completionist.  I want to pull and was hoping for validation, I found none...

I have a feeling Odin will be the new Bishop, but Ronan and Electro seem lower middle tier to me.

I was excited about Electro until I used her. Not sure any of these three are world beaters but with the new boosted 5*’s nearly all of them are viable.

I don't think Ronan is worth champing.

If you DIDN'T get Switch and Colossus, I would probably pull for Electro, as she seems reasonable as a counter for ihulk (so that means waiting another month).

personally, I will be waiting until both rotate out, then pull for Odin.

Also, if you're waiting for a feeder - you'll be waiting for about a year i would bet.

I see no reason to pull until Electro and Ronan rotate out. And some of those CPs might be more useful if there's a Fan Favorites store around Anniversary time.

If you're looking to make the jump to 5* land, I wouldn't make that jump with this group.

By the look of it, you are playing SCL 10. So, roster Odin via 500 shards and you won't need to pull a single token.

Ronan and Electro are not meta, but Ronan is fun and Electro is niche. Odin is still up in the air.

Anniversary is about 1.5 months away, so If I were you, I would wait and see who are featured in Anniversary store. However, if you got all the meta 5* champed, then it depends on your goal. Meta or fun? If meta, hoard. The next latest pair of meta will probably be ~8-10 months away.

Depends what else you have.  If you have a solid base of meta characters that are usable when they're not boosted, then I'd try to champion everyone so you have them for their boost weeks.

If these would be your first 3 champion 5*...you should probably wait for a better 3.

I have Ronan championed and he's actually pretty great, *when boosted +100 levels*.  He's underwhelming otherwise though, which makes him just like 95% of the 5* tier.

I don't think I've seen a single opponent in PVP with either Ronan or Electro.

I voted for the final option. Spend up to 50 pulls to get a single Odin and then save for the next 1 or 2 5s as they are likely more useful than electro and Roman.

I've noticed the pattern of most Marvel films getting a 5star. Ironman, Wasp, Yellowjacket, Yelena etc etc. So it's very likely that a 5star relating to the 10 rings film thing will be next or soon.

To be fair, I don't think they all stink. If you just want a copy of all of them, then just pull for 1 Odin cover. Otherwise, go ahead and champ Odin. Out of the 3, he is the best one IMO. I like Electro, but don't see her as meta in most cases. Ronan is just Valkyrie on steroids. He may become more interesting if a character with a repeater tile-focused power comes along.

I find that Ronan can actually hit pretty hard all other things being equal. He won't help you unboosted against other characters who are boosted, which I guess is the new metric for how we have to rate characters, but like entrailbucket said I think he'll be a boost week standout. My personal jury is still out on Electro since I just have 2 green covers on her and can't really say one way or the other how she performs built.

Ronan is going to hit like a truck even if he's unboosted if you can spam his repeaters. The same goes to Mr Sinister who can hit decently if you can work out great teammates for him.

Unfortunately we are the only two that think that , I’ll pull for him

I don't know, I think that would be pretty fortunate if everybody but us skips him. A 5* jump-in-front health pool is going to be a nightmare to chew through in pvp I think.

Pull until Ronan is ~8 Covers, then pray for a feeder
With 5* now having a weekly boost it really helps to have all 5* to 450.  It can be ok to skip one every now and then but you really want them all champed.  In a case like this I would pull till I felt comfortable I could get Ronin to 450 with shards and feeders.  I might try and get 10-11 covers instead of 8 but that is just me.  You will still have enough pulls if you want to go wild on an anniversary vault or if one of the next couple 5* is really good.

With the weekly boosts it is not that important to get that 1 meta 5* to level 500+.  2 buffed 5* are going to beat the non boosted meta 5* the majority of the time.  Will there be a week every once in a while where this isn’t true sure but that will not be that often

You still have a lot of time and anniversary is coming.
The wise option with your hoard is to wait a bit more and then make your decision.

Years ago, after the nerfs to X-force and 4thor but before the rise of 5*, the meta was weekly boosted 4*.  It looked quite a bit like it does now, with the best characters changing every week.  A few characters (like Hulkbuster, Cyclops, and Jean Grey) were good all the time, but mostly they'd be outgunned by the boosted guys.

My advice to players transitioning to 4* back then was to concentrate on covering one good 4* team that was usable in every event (we didn't have champions yet), and then go as wide as possible to cover all your bases for boost weeks.

I think it's basically the same deal now.  I don't see much point anymore in skipping mediocre/bad characters to go all in on the good characters.  There's just not that much difference between SW at lvl450 or lvl500 when your opponents are all 575+ every week.

Of course, it'll take time for players to figure this out.  I think everyone is still using the pre-boosted-5* strategy, even though the meta it was created for no longer exists.

However it is hard to champ totally all the 5*s, and with a meta team I could win all pvp rewards in more than 3 weeks which they were 5*s too classics for my roster.
It was less easy, it was risky, but it is certainly doable if you don't have viable options.

About those LLs, if not having SW then electro is needed. If not, like I said in his thread odin will be defensive meta.

The question is simple really -- if you have the resources to acquire, say, 50 5* covers, what's the most optimal way to distribute them?

Before boosted 5* the optimal answer was to put those 50 covers on the best character, because you'd use that character in every event.

I think that's no longer the case, but many people are still acting as if it is.  Now I think the best way to distribute them is onto multiple characters, assuming you already have a meta team.
