I’m seeing a lot of Sighclops; I wish I’d been able to finish mine before this boost week. I’ve been using Kitty/Knull, it’s pretty decent but a little slow. I switched to Kitty Polaris to get over 1200, it was a lot faster.

Thor/Cable took me to 1200 in Magneto's and looks solid for Cap too with Kitty options also.

My Cable doesn’t tank enough or I’d have gone that route too. I like Cable, I wish I’d gotten that pouch costume for him

I was expecting to be surprised by Cable, and I was surprised to find that he's really bad, even boosted!

Mine is lvl484 pre-boost, so not huge.  All his stuff costs about 4ap more than it should.  His blue power seems cool but often it doesn't do anything at all.  His green power does a lot of damage, and if you can fire it strategically, it can be a big AOE...there's just no place in the current game for a power that costs that much.  The strike tile power is good with Kitty, but in a metagame where Kitty is on every enemy team it's actually a liability.

The surprise was Cyclops, whose stuff is all immune to enemy Kitty.  When enemy Circuit Breaker is hitting for 50-60k damage that's very important.  Red doesn't do enough damage and green doesn't do enough at all, but the random stun was clutch a few times and his yellow power is really good.

I didn't mess with Thor because for me, he'd have tanked green/red/yellow with any partner, and I didn't want to constantly babysit his health.

Enemy teams were about 90% Kitty, mostly with Thor or Cyclops as 2nd.  I also saw some very high level Okoye/Thor, some Beta Bill, a couple Rocket, and a couple Polaris.

Cable’s blue is supposed to feed his green, so I think he might be good with iHulk actually. You match green, it stuns somebody and makes green charge tiles worth 3x green AP. So if you can keep somebody adding green to the board it might not be so bad to gather AP for.

Yeah, you almost need someone adding green all the time to make it worth casting at all.  I'd try to save it up until there were a few green matches on the board...but even then, if you get 1-2 green matches while the tile is out, you're doing pretty well.

There might be a team where Cable can be good, but it's not happening in this week's meta.  Maybe next time he gets a turn he'll do better!

I’ve been trying to make it happen, but I think he is a pick-3 3rd rather than a pick-2 killer. 5Witch and IHulk can keep green on the board ok, but two actual killers feeding a marginal is kind of silly when you look at it lol.

When Cable first came out, I was teaming him with 3* Starlord and they work well.  Depending on what you want to do, you could fire Starlord's green that won't destroy the charged tiles you created, which means there's potential for charged green match-3 to stun the enemy for two turns. Now, Electro could be there to feed yellow against enemy with regular AoE. If Balance of Power is back, I think they could be fun because you could see 4* Juggernaut often even in 5* land.

In this week boost, I see a sprinkle of him with Thor in pvp. Thor/Sighclops is the second most common team. I also see 300k hp Kitty teaming with max champed R4G/Polaris. I think this week boost, to me, is the gold standard for variety of opponents in pvp.

Well, another time thor. However this time seems less effective as the other time because being there kitty I'm seeing him less.
I saw some gritty comeback but in my tier it is not really effective although having a 622 kitty. Perhaps with a mutant as the required character she could shine.
Being there cyclops, and being him so bad, this is a strange week.
I don't have champed any of those. And as I could get my 1200 points with my meta team, I don't regret it at all.

Cable isn't great but with Thor God of Thundering it isn't hard to get the AP to use his green nuke strategically. Cable's stun is also really more of a bonus than a given match changer but it has all worked out OK so far although I think Cap's PvP might be more of a slog than the previous ones. A boosted character is a boosted character when you only have 9 5* champs! You better believe I am gonna ride that Cable to the end!
Ideally I would have had a Cyclops to run but mine is 2/1/2 (edited) Lvl 255 so useless in my MMR.

Part of Cable that often gets overlooked is the fortify friendly countdown+repeater tile on friendly yellow match.

Works ok with champed Cyclps as his red makes 3x 3turn red repeaters. So getting those fortified makes the repeaters actually worth it.

I remember those times when I only had  kingping 5* almost champed and 7 covers on cable. Sometimes I used his blue for to create a blue tile and making cascades.
And with an army like that I fought my way throughout up to scl9.
Funny to remember but it wouldn't funny to repeat that again.

That repeater fortification is nice with 5Witch, who can also drop whichever color you care about on the board. I wish Cable was better, he was a character I really liked as a kid. It's always a bummer when cool characters are duds in this game.

He nearly was better as I remember when he was first being teased they had placeholder values in place for his AP costs which got spotted in a video or something and which were all I think 6 or so. That got people very excited...until they actually revealed the real numbers!

I was trying to run them Summers Boys in simulator, but my un-champed, un-leveled SighClops wasn't really helping the cause. There's also a lot of overlap there between them, but Sighclops' green can make red for Havok who can make blue for Cable who then starts charging Green when you make yellow matches, which Sighclops can use to shuffle the board and crank up match damage. At that point, you kind of need to decide whose green you want to use, since it's kind of Cable's big play. Havok is another one I wish had been more impressive/useful. In fact, it's kind of a shame he doesn't synergize with Polaris at all.

Well Havok is up next so you get another shot at seeing what you can do with him!

For whatever reason I saw a bunch of Colossus/SW teams in the Captain America event...boosted Kitty *destroys* that team.  Just cast her red, protect it for a turn or two, and the game is over.

That's why this week boost is the gold standard for variety. It's not going to be easy to replicate this. So, I'm going to savour this. Healthpack usage wise, I spent a total of only 8-9 healthpacks for the last 2 pvps. It will not be more than 15 for all three pvps.  Unfortunately, I'll be expecting to use a total of ~75 healthpacks in the next 5* boost week.

It's also the gold standard for synergy. Boosted Kitty, Cable and Sighclops easily saw off the challenge nodes in Deadpool vs MPQ (with the help of Supports of course. 3* Lockheed for Kitty and 4* Shuri's Lab for Sighclops). Hopefully the next time Kitty is boosted it will also be with two other X-Men.

In addition, thanks to my increased usage of Cable, I've been using him in PVP with Wanda and Apocalypse especially to fortify Wanda's repeater. Sure, you lose Colossus' match damage prevention, but Cable provides stun, a green outlet, and no competition for Poccy's Black.
