That's why I say I don't know that we have his ideal partner quite yet, but I'm sure he could become good for something. There are more than a few 4* characters that would work great with him but that isn't likely to matter in the boosted 5* events.

If I was a 4* player I think I might run Riri against him. I could still punish the Polaris cowering at the back with my red and if Odin got annoying I can punch him into space for a few rounds whilst I finish off his crew. Then I can kill him with no jumping anywhere with Riri's red nuke (or whoever else I brought with me).
In terms of running with him, Silk seems like she might work OK.

I have a really baby champed YJ, but it was really funny to play him although as mentioned there is the tanking issue with SW.
In krakadoom event I targeted always SW first. I fought a lot of times more YJ SW than JJ, I think.
And I was lucky because dumb AI always used the hex, or even more funny, blue ragnarok, so on climbing I used 14 health packs only.
In the odin event that chance of YJ not going invisible will be smaller.
I don't have any doubt that before(or just after) he takes the exit, odin will be a popular pick 3 char.

If I had 4* MMR, I'd try running him with Shuri/P4nther in pick 3

Playing him now in PvP I can see how incredibly slow and annoying a battle could be ( for speed lovers ). Throw in a 3 tank team like Colossus and I think people would just rather skip than take 6 minutes to win .  And we are only seeing him at 1/1/1. Wait until the handful of players who don’t hate him start using him on defense.

That's kind of what I was gettting at. I'll be Odin/5witch/Colossus in simulator for sure.

I’m using that , and only the loaner has taken damage so far . I haven’t used a health pack yet . I don’t understand why everyone thinks this is a bad team

Because they were wrong about him being useless. Happens.

What's the loaner's jump-in-front threshold vs a champion Odin?  That may be impacting his overall usefulness (I haven't started this event yet).

Characters are only as good as the contexts/scenarios that players put them into. Some notable examples I can think of is Killmonger, Kitty and Okoye.

Last year, there was a pick-1 pvp. Before this pvp, players with only single or double champed meta 5* like Okoye or Kitty was dominating/having an easy time in pvps for many months or even years. All it took is one shift in context, and they went from dominating to become the dominated.

Killmonger won new praises during his boost week and America Chavez being required in his first boosted pvp solidifies the feeling of awesomeness of his powers.

Initially, I was thinking of Odin/Colossus/Wanda but it would be pretty difficult to trigger his fortification or jump in front passive due to those protections Wanda/Colossus give. What kind of opponents are you thinking of when putting Wanda/Colossus/Odin?

A week ago you listed at least 10 character / teams capable of the 5800 threshold.  Colossus and Switch would absorb that most of the time . Odin would be the breakthrough last line of defense . I’m not concerned about one of his powers activating every turn . The point of the team is you have to break through 3 entire defenses . Even without healing , that’s  going to be a very time consuming battle which is in itself it’s own defense against Speed Hunters . I know many already who just skip over Witch/ Colossus alone because it’s too slow a battle .

If Odin trigger his cd every turn, your defense will frustrate the opponent even more because we are looking at 4760 or 7140 of healing almost every turn. It's probably the closest scenario of the pre-nerfed OML when he simply passively heals back whatever you throw at him. I'm looking forward to ~24 August.

I've enjoyed this week. I particular enjoyed using JJ - her trap tiles are still awesome and wiped out many an enemy in PVP. I wonder where she sits in the tier system these days. Obviously not meta but is she still considered second tier or has power creep pushed her down the list?

Wanda’s reduction starts low and progresses to high, so if you have Odin jumping in front to eat it first I imagine he’ll work pretty often.

You know there’s going to be at least one idiot who said “Skip Odin” last week who’s going to post a “Nerf Odin” thread by October. I’m waiting to read that one .

I love JJ- she’s dangerous in a lot of ways, but I think an often overlooked bit of her traps is that they generate AP on team strongest color, so you can game that similarly to valkyrie

Jessica was always in the "1B" tier with guys like Daredevil -- just on the edge of usable but not quite there.  As the 1A tier kept getting better, 1B disappeared completely.  They were never *bad* exactly, but the good characters were so much better that there was no reason to ever use them.

Everybody focuses on the traps because they're passive but her red and black powers are both absolute bombs.  One fun team from a long time ago is JJ/Daredevil/CW Cap.  It's a rainbow active team where every color has a good power and they all synergize well.

People liked the traps because they were sort of AI-proof on defense in the way that Profe$$or X has become. But yeah, the tide of play has really passed her by.

Pretty glad this week is over.  Boosted SW was in 95% of enemy teams.  She kind of warps the game in the mirror such that she's the only one on either side who's allowed to do damage.  I didn't lose to her (I lost to Yellowjacket a couple times!), but pretty much every fight cost 2 health packs.

Every fight was the same: your SW hits them for 20k at the start of the turn, then every other thing you do does 10 damage.  Then their SW hits you for 20k, and everything else they do hits you for 10 damage.

Any fights against non SW teams were trivial but I only found like 2 of those.
