6*s are they now inevitable?

The game already has a 6* tier in the bosses, they just aren’t playable. They just need to give us ways to earn them and that can be the next carrot.0

6*s are long overdue IMO.

No scaling makes sense for 6's. They ruined that when they introduced 5's.
3's go from 40 to 166, max champ 266. 4's from 70 to 270, to max champ 370. 5's SHOULD have started at level 100 or so, champed in the neighborhood of 350, then run to 450 as a max champ. A logical progression that could have dropped in new tiers on top.
But 5's were created to start at level 255, champ at 450, and not max out till 550. They were created to be end-game content.
The math simply starts to break and fall apart if you try to put another tier on top of that. How do you balance 6's when they make 4's irrelevant? Either the 6's will outshine the 4's, or the challenges built for them will make 4's useless. Players that are working on 6's will find even more of their roster useless than 5-star players do today. Existing problems will only get worse. How long will it take to acquire and build 6's compared to today's 5's?
They painted themselves into a corner when they released 5's, and instead of incrementing up a tier (and leaving room for 6's, or even 7's down the line), they fabricated an end-game tier, without a stable platform to build past it.
Nevermind the part where 6-star releases would mean another Spidey, Wolverine, Iron Man, Thor, Cap, etc, making it take even longer to get the requested characters that aren't already in the game.
They already tried to make Supports a shiny for 5-star players to collect (fitting the "collect-a-thon" progression of being 6's as the next thing to chase). Then bumbled it by trying to make them open for all players, and missing out on any sort of natural progression that made sense to the players.
We used to just champ 5's. They have another 100 levels to go, but your average 5-star player focuses on champing the next one more than leveling them, only leveling their strongest teams. SCL10 has started to give reason to change that, with the higher difficulty. If you make higher level 5's desirable (and acquirable) to your average veteran player, maybe do the same with supports, you can make high level 5's with high rank/level Supports fit the progression need that 6-star characters would theoretically fill. That stuff is already in the game, and doesn't require figuring out how to put 6-star characters on top without breaking things.

As much as i agree and understand, that same story and principle can be applied to what 5*s did to the 3* tier.
They made them irrellevant and would do so to 4*s too, if certain 5*s didnt exist as excellent support characters (kitty, okoye, HE), or if the devs didnt make 4*s that could punch above their weight (bishop, hammercap, juggs, karnak, etc).
The same entire dance could be replicated in the 6* tier. Starting level 350 (just an example), outclasses all 4*s just by existing. Demands at least 5* opponents.
And to top it off, we have SCL 10 now, which is challenging enough in PvE, where some players would gladly throw money at a 6* cover just to make this new grind easier and quicker.
Believe you me (never had to type that saying out before... Looks weird)...
I dont care for the idea of 6*s.
I, like you, believe 5*s were done wrong.
But i also see how as a business, they want to make a new challenge to create an artificial 'need' for a new tier. This would bring in new revenue, and might even chase away players at the same time.
But when your mobile game is SO old, why not try to squeeze a few last bucks out of it before it dries up?0 -

There is a literally infinite amount of room to scale up with 6*s. Whether that implementation is a good idea is another question entirely.

I'm inclined to think that supports should probably be that thing, but there needs to be a massive re-think regarding how they are aquired, leveled, viewed in game, pretty much everything about them needs a re-think. But they're already mostly implemented. So maybe let's start with that.0
