I'm not convinced that Patch+C. Mags is that much faster than Punisher+C. Mags in jungle/desert. I really can't stress enough how important the 48AP env crits for Punisher are compared to Patch with C. Mags: Phantron was the only person in this thread that even mentioned the ability. It combined with his three active abilities in the jungle and trivial crits through C. Mags blue have been carrying me throughout my entire MPQ career. It turns out that+5/10AP to all colors when you have 5 active colors covered with Pun/C. Mags is usually enough to win you the game pretty quickly. Things just don't feel the same way with any other character: my Psylocke/C. Mags/LazyThor team feels incredibly slow compared to Psylocke/C. Mags/Punisher, and LazyThor is supposed to be the most broken character in the game according to people.

With the 2 characters being just as fast in both environments, the only thing Patch has over him is his regen, and I'd prefer the versatility of damage over that.

That's a good point. I've been avoiding the jungle because I get burned in that one more than any other environment. Haven't really thought to use it to my advantage with cMags crit making ability matches with a high env char like Pun. Usually used it with mStorm, though.

If the question is "who should I level to 141 first" my answer is punisher.

Patch was basically the next character I pushed to 120+ so I could swap him into my team of 3 when punisher went down.

I always have such a bad time with Hulk (without spidey of course) that now I always bring my Hulk to tank against any opposing Hulks
  • Now that we've had a little discussion I figured if throw a little poll in there.

You should avoid playing Punisher in jungle without your own Punisher (or Magento). Even the AI knows how to turn Thorned Rose into a massive beatdown and Punisher is by far the top environmental character amongst the top tier.

Even without Magneto, you probably get 2-4 crits in a match (including the AI's, since they don't seem to care about their crit tiles at all and is happy to let you use them most of the time), and just having a chance to flip that into 48 EAP is often game ending.
  • Can't say which is better because they're both completely situationally better than the other.

That being said, with the nerf to spiderman, patch will let you run for a long long long time without needing any heals. And if you leave a color empty and he can tank it, you have a much stronger red attack.

Punisher's green is clearly much safer than patches.

Punisher's black is a amazing aoe ability for cheap that multiplies nicely with his green and starts obliterating the other team when his attack tiles kick in.

His red is a nice quick 1-1.5k in pvp but really only matters for pve since even 4k damage to hulk would just be 3k with a 5/5/3 punisher build.

It really makes a big difference who you group him with because I'd almost never use punishers red unless I had no other red abilities on my team.

His green is great if you don't have Lthor on your team and I use it a little more than patches if I have both of them because you can fire it off sooner to multiply everything faster with no real risk of being hit back.

Punisher is basically a very fast character who has lots of smaller attacks.

Patch is about the killing blow and ending things fast for your team or the other team. This also means that you get more defensive wins when patch catches the other team sleeping on the color count. Punisher rarely takes anything by surprise.

Color denial is a joke because it's a difference of one color and how many people have an all red/green/(black) team. You want to deny both green first and foremost anyhow.

As far as your first 141, punisher is probably the most versatile character in the game although not the best in any one category so he's definitely one of a handful of 'first 141 candidates and mine as well'

The real answer is you want both so level up whoever you have the covers for. If your team is missing black, use punisher, if your team has a good black skill, use patch. If you have lazythor on your team, use Lazy Daken icon_e_smile.gif
