Cool, thanks. I didn't notice the quotes were nested like that.

No worries. It's very easy to make that mistake. That is one of the reasons why you will see some of my post edited SEVERAL times. That and mistyped words and sentences. I really should proofread and use the preview button more often. icon_lol.gif

Like was mentioned in another thread, marvel heroes. Even ignoring the AMA, they probably had more communication today than D3 has had all month. And they're also constantly doing balance patches to characters every patch, which comes more often than every 4 months. Moreover, those balance patches don't necessarily get them more money with respecing, since you only need to buy a hero once (for about the same price as a single cover).

Or talking about F2P mobile games, how about Puzzles & Dragons? They also had a big server meltdown during a major event. They were on top of it, acknowledging that it was a problem ahead of time, posting updates on the progress, and letting everyone know well ahead of time when they were going to take the server down to do maintenance. (They also actually offered about $5 worth of compensation for the disruption caused by the server errors). They also seem to respond to a fair deal of comments on facebook. And that's with them being a port of a japanese game to boot! (Though they did have some dungeons that actually debuted in the american version first before making it over to the japanese one, IIRC)

Off Topic: I keep hearing about Marvel Heros. Is it PC, Mobile, Steam, Console? I'd like to check it out.

On Topic: I have played a lot of F2P games both online and on my phone. And most have had excellent communication regarding changes, issues, hiccups, etc. There were some that were not as good, but none as bad as here.

It was brought to my attention that they have made an effort to improve with character changes announcements and have actually improved. So I will give props where props are due. But over all, if I was to grade them like a school kid, they would still get a D in communication. They excel in some areas. But fail hard in others. They really need to find a better balance. Maybe I will start a "report card" thread to see how everyone rates all the different aspects of the game.
  • Came across this in an old thread from a few months ago. There are probably twice as many forumites now as back in January. So I wonder if it's still true? I was going to start a new thread, but I figured we have enough threads about this...

    RE: Are You There, Devs?
    And we're listening.

Bear in mind that an extremely small and unrepresentative sample of the total player population ever posts here, and we're listening to data and input from lots of other sources as well. Even when you see a bunch of people in the forums united in believing a particular change to be good or bad, or even to be having a particular effect, that experience is sometimes not shared by the majority of players. That said, we've paid more attention to the opinions of the folks here than any other group, as you represent our most passionate and dedicated players, and your insights have influence on the direction we take far out of proportion to your numbers.
