Is it a good idea to sell Spidey

So the devs have given us a chance to sell off Spiderman at a premium. I didn't sell my Thor or Wolverine and I stand by that decision but the hp and iso are tempting to level some other characters. Also, I have a feeling that he will show up in future tournaments.

He'll show up in the future for sure. However, I haven't seen the sell value, so I can't really say if I'd be willing or not to hock him. Unless it's 4 digits of HP, I won't even think about it.0

141 Spidey: 86k Iso and 1500 HP0

I don't think so. There's inevitably going to be a tournament that features him, and as experience has shown from Thorverine, lots of people got burned because they sold the characters.0

Still good for Prologue healing. Maybe decent at PvE against one opponent, although I haven't seen those in awhile.0

Im so tempted to sell right now because of how useless he is..... Arrrrrrr0

Level 25 Spidey, 2/1/1, 2,000 ISO and 0 HP.
I think I'll hang onto him.0 -
A max level Spidey takes 169,490 ISO, and 13 covers / 16,250 HP to fully level. Hence, it's a very poor choice to sell him if you've put any iso, hp, or covers into him already.0

A level 28 Spiderman is 2500 ISO and 250 HP. It looks like the 3rd cover is what puts you into getting back HP.0

If the developers could track down who actually spends real money on spidey, they could give them the possibility to have the coins back to decide which character bump instead. What they done It's so unfair...0

Lvl 80 with 3/5/3 is worth 25k iso and 750hps. I never lvld him because I have always done fine without him. I treat him like a 2* lol anyways keeping for lightning rounds. 25k is worthless. Enough to get a lvl70 to lvl85. Good joke d3 make us sell him and then feature him/power up so we repurchase.0

I can almost guarantee that we'll see a Spidey event during season 2. You'll regret selling him.0

this 100x. even if they are offering more then they usually would....selling ur spidey now represents a poor value.

As usual the answer depends on whether you look at a good and prompt use of the received ISO and HP. The iso you get is like 1/2-1/3 of the investment but the HP looked like a nice pack these days. Worth considering as the character itself is kinda useless. And his covers will likely be offered in upcoming weeks so you can pick up a proxy that is about as useless. Or go on without gaining a slot for extra HP economy.
Though be aware that last time we had "seriously? a THOR tournament?" right after the sells, it is quite expected now too.0 -
Spidey is still going to have prologue healing value. Especially on those Sunday nights when PvE/PvP events are ending at the same time.0

I sold him and don't regret it I fully expect Spidey to be feature soon and I'll probably miss out on a card or two but I took Punisher and Capt to 141 and have plenty of chars to spend ISO on. I leveled my Patch to 141 quickly by selling my Thor and Wolverine and do not regret that decision either.0

Selling my Spidey also got me in the mood to sell my 2* Daken, 2* Capt 1* Storm and Bagman now I have 6 open slots0

You should sell him if you actually plan to consolidate your roster instead of just constantly buying new slots like a hoarder. If you're still going to hoard heroes like most people do (I do that too) then there's no reason to sell him. He's not useless, but if you don't plan on hoarding heroes, this is as good a place to start downsizing as any.0

For new player that dont have high lvl of cover into him, it wouldnt be a bad idea to sell him. So this only apply to those in the who are in need of roster slot and spiderman is not fully cover/leveled. If you only have 3-5 cover into him, sure go for it. Sell him, a low level spider man is absolutely useless now. Even if he was to feature in a pvp or pve, he doesnt really bring anything to the table. He will just be cannon fodder to your other two core.
If you have a lvl 100+with more than 10 cover into him then and only then he might be worth keeping.
Just for your information, the more you level him the more hero points you get for selling him.
My lvl50 spiderman can be sold for 375 hero points(wow i just level him to lv 52 and he now sell for 500 hp, it would be nice if the someone can provide us with the lvl threshold for each increment in HP value.). So think of it as coverting iso in to hero point at the moment. If you are a free to play player and have no reliable way of making HP, this is not a bad idea.
Back in the Thorverine nerf, i was only a 1* transitioning to a 2* player. I had quite a bit of iso but no hero point and i was struggling to get roster slot. When i saw that you can gain HP when you sell wolverine and thor, i did not hesitate. I sold thor immediately and got a nice 200 HP which i use to open another roster slot. Then i find out with wolverine that if i level him up i get more HP, so i level him up to the soft cap and sell him and got 300 HP. In the next 2 days i got even more wolverine cover and so i put a few together lvl it up and sell it for a nice 150 hp. These boost in HP solve all my roster slot issue, i was able to keep all 3 star, then build a competitive roster. Now i have 4 141 character with 139 days of play.
Sure i regret selling thor as the was a pvp for him right after and he was still quite good after the nerf but i enjoy the slot that i put my patch in even more.
So TL;DR If you have less than 7 cover into him, sure level him up and sell him. 7-10 cover into him then it depend if you need the HP from the sale. More than 10 dont sell him, not really worth it unless you absolutely need the HP.0 -
I was stuck at 79 w/ 1/4/3, so for me, selling him enabled me to buy covers and net:
2 more slots
Human Torch, Thor, and Captain America covers. I'd rather level them than to wait out a neutered Spider-Man. Sure, they'll make him show up in the future. Still, I'd rather not use him; I wasn't power-using him to begin with.0
