I think I'll skip

I wouldn't mind not seeing those single digit retaliations at all, at least not when they obscure actual worthy targets. Would like them to appear at the end of a tourney as a nice option when they are actually worth points due to climbing. Something with user preferences, anyway.0

Yes, there is no reason to ruin the game in the node. Also as skip tax was dumped on the system they could have implemented to common and sensible request to free skip small-point offers.
More importantly they could arrange refresh on the offers so the opponent standing and expected point gain would be accurate at least for that time point rather than leave it to guesswork where the opponent climbed or sunk since.0 -

As for the OP, just for the record, oversize font is not why people see your comments here as a hissy fit.0 -
Why arent point loss/gains based on a weighted average of individual event rating and hidden MMR?0

My complaint is the whole thing. Fighting level 141 enemies for 1 point, regardless of it being a retaliation, is just not worth the time. Others share the same point of view, I see. The ISO loss, I really wasn't talking about, but who wants to lose potential ISO? Seriously, do you or jozier and those who were so quick to criticize me skip those 1-2 point matches?
I think this is the only time I've started a thread and I thought I'd share why I skip. I think the picture speaks for itself. At first I thought it was amusing until ya get the ol "working as intended line". So, if my posts are angry towards the devs, it's because I've gotten cookie cutter, **** response(s) when trying to contact them directly...... and since I dont have a clue about the inner workings of the game, I really know what to suggest to resolve it.0 -
Riggy wrote:So is your complaint that you have to pay to skip retaliations? That seems like a valid complaint to me, and one that has been raised before. When I'm busy pushing for the top, I get bottom-feeders sniping me regularly. However, I rarely push past 1K points in a normal pvp, so I also rarely see that many bottom feeders.
The sim event is different. Some peeps have pushed so far ahead of the rest of the pack that they're going to be juicy targets for just about everyone. And given the length of the event, anyone who has participated in the last month is now in that pool of potential hunters waiting for a plump, juicy turkey to drop shields (not insinuating an insult there - just listening to my co-workers in the background who are apparently big fans of turkey hunting. and beer.). So another valid complaint could be that there needs to be a cap on mmr matching or a minimum retal value.
But let's analyze your original post for a moment. Your phrasing:MikeHock wrote:I'd have to skip all 5 nodes in the shield simulator to find a match worth wasting more of my time on.
2) You seem to be convinced that even when you find a match worth points to you, the reason for getting those points is still a waste of time. Every game ever is pretty much a treadmill. FPS, RPG, Action, whatever genre you want - they're treadmills. Sometimes they have cutesy graphics to entice you along, sometimes it's unique mechanics to allow you to manipulate the interface. Whatever it is that hooks you, eventually you get tired of walking on a treadmill. If you're tired of this particular one, and your "worth wasting more of my time on" says you are, so be it. Get off the treadmill.
What I don't understand is that you and others come here regularly and post insults to the devs like "pathetic", "****", and "f*@#ed in the head". That is not a constructive means of offering feedback that would allow for a dialogue on ways to improve the game. I understand that many people have invested a lot of time and money (myself included) who want the game to remain a popular and a fashionable treadmill to spend time on. There are better and worse ways to express these sentiments. So if you want the game to be good again (from your perspective - I'm still quite enjoying it and think it's reasonably good still), great, offer your feedback. If you're not looking for the devs to improve the game, then you're just posting insults and I can put on my mod hat and lock this thread.
Allow for Dialogue? Really? As they have been so communicative on here and just love talking about their game and the their grand vision.
To address the OP, is this a bug? Is this working as intended? We don't really know because the Dev team has failed to communicate with us, so who knows. It would be nice if they would tell us so we KNOW if something is really working as intended or not.
I've seen many level headed posts and still there is no dialogue. Expressing frustration is just that. You may not agree with their choice of words but maybe, just maybe it could be the complete and utter lack of dialogue you speak of that gets people to this point....

You can't make it so that low points are automatically skipped (even for free) because there are cases where you start off high and take a lot of losses along the way and suddenly that match which started out as a single digit retaliation is worth a lot, especially if that guy has climbed considerably by the time you finally got around playing. Sure, in the SHIELD training you can probably assume someone isn't going to make up a 1000 point deficit by the time you play again, but in other places it is entirely possible to say start at 1000, get hit for -45 for someone at 600, and by the time you come back your rating is down to 600 while that guy has climbed to 900 and you wouldn't want to automatically skip that guy, even if at the precise moment the attack occured it's likely to worth only single digits.0

Err, I read it the feature is crippled to force paying for supposedly low point offer because it is also crippled with being inaccurate/outdated with showing details? Makes perfect sense. NOT.
Auto-skip is was not requested before tax was introduced, that is not such a big deal.
And the interface could be improved in so many ways with trivial dev time -- the short game info without going inside could show more details like the points (especially in PVE), skip could leave you in the node showing the next offer, etc...
But devs could not be bothered with player goodwill.0 -
If somebody takes 40 points off you isn't it only reasonable to expect to he able to get those points back? As it is if you have a lot of attacks on you not all kf them will appear in your reataliation list. If I wake up and see that I have lost nearly 300 points by being hit by 16 people those 16 people will not fill my nodes. I may get 7 or 8 retaliations.
Also being charged iso to skip low point retaliations is a real slap in the face.
On a positive note D3P did promise an end to zero points battles, now we have 1 point battles. One promise they actually did live up to.0
