I think I'll skip

Spare us such ridiculousness D3. 1 point retaliations!? Pathetic. I'd have to skip all 5 nodes in the shield simulator to find a match worth wasting more of my time on.

Not only am I going to skip this match, but I'll be skipping out on this game shortly. This game is cr@p now and I'm just fighting one match a day for the daily bonus.

Its not that that is a incredibly difficult team to beat, its that the reward sucks. They really need to look into scaling the rewards (both ISO and points) to reflect the cumulative difficulty of the opp team.

Sure, I could beat the team, for 1 point it is a waste of time and an insult.

If this is "working as intended" then they are f*@#ed in the head.

Yeah, that's my problem recently. Fine, I've built up my roster a bit, I'm going to see 141 teams now instead of beating up on weenie level 85 teams. Fair enough, that's fine. The problem is that the 141 teams I see will take so long to beat and give so little points that I can't afford to take the time to beat them because I'll lose 80 points while gaining 15, and that's not counting the retal I'll get if I don't shield up immediately. All because you want us to have to spend money on shields and boosts. LAME. This is the worst kind of P2W, forcing us to pay for "in the moment" buffs that won't even give any kind of progression or lasting advantage.
  • How are you going to recover from this -10 ISO injustice?
  • If that was a match the system picked for you, I'd take this seriously. Retaliations almost never give me good points b/c I'm always getting sniped from below. Same as how I'm always picking fights that give me 35+ points. I'm sure they're thinking the same thing about me.

I wish the people who keep talking about quitting would actually do so instead of just coming to the forum and bragging about it.
  • You can press skip 1,514 more times.

I didn't say anything about the ISO. Thank you for your oh-so witty support.
  • If you were just fighting one match for the free reward, why wouldn't you pick an easy goon match in the prologue? Oh, that's because you're full of ****.

Which tells me you play as much as everyone else and only take breaks to come on the forum to complain about the game.
  • For every good match for you there's an equally bad match for the guy on the receiving end, and vice versa.
  • This looks like a retaliation to me... and if it is, then you need to calm it down.

The amount of temper tantrums thrown on this forum is laughable.

Yes, silly me for trying to bring a valid issue to light on the developers forum. And if customers want to let the devs know that they're unhappy and leaving, then they should do so. Sorry, but you'll just have to deal with some unhappy posts on this forum.

That's a screen shot that I saved from a few days ago, but thanks for your omnipotent judgment that I'm full of ****.

How many 40-50 point matches did you get when you were the one climbing simulator?

You're crying like a baby here and you don't have a reasonable point. Someone started late and you got randomly targeted as a big point value to this person. You weren't matched with them, they found you and took you down.

    Grow up.

It appears that others grasped my point and didn't have to make smart **** comments or insults.

For the record, the only reason I made the text in the original post so large is because the picture itself was large. Perhaps people see the larger font as crying or having a hissy fit.

As others pointed out, and as you yourself pointed out with your "retaliation" bit, your complaint isn't valid. When you hit someone really far above you for 50 points, they see a **** retaliation. That guy hit you, got 50 points, and you see a **** retaliation. Seems fair to me.

How does that make his complaint not valid? Identifying the source of someone's frustration doesn't somehow invalidate their criticism: The fact that the game LETS you hit people 500 points above you is tinykitty

You don't see low point retaliations as an issue? Right now, my shield simulator shows all 5 nodes as retaliation matches worth 1-2 points. I guess that is something I question... do you all skip the 1-2 point retaliations or do you fight them?

    Thanks for not being insulting.

So is your complaint that you have to pay to skip retaliations? That seems like a valid complaint to me, and one that has been raised before. When I'm busy pushing for the top, I get bottom-feeders sniping me regularly. However, I rarely push past 1K points in a normal pvp, so I also rarely see that many bottom feeders.

The sim event is different. Some peeps have pushed so far ahead of the rest of the pack that they're going to be juicy targets for just about everyone. And given the length of the event, anyone who has participated in the last month is now in that pool of potential hunters waiting for a plump, juicy turkey to drop shields (not insinuating an insult there - just listening to my co-workers in the background who are apparently big fans of turkey hunting. and beer.). So another valid complaint could be that there needs to be a cap on mmr matching or a minimum retal value.

But let's analyze your original post for a moment. Your phrasing:
    MikeHock wrote:

    1) I only have 2 nodes in sim that I fight on b/c of their environments. So I only ever have to skip 1-2 retals to get to a new and potentially good opponent.
    2) You seem to be convinced that even when you find a match worth points to you, the reason for getting those points is still a waste of time. Every game ever is pretty much a treadmill. FPS, RPG, Action, whatever genre you want - they're treadmills. Sometimes they have cutesy graphics to entice you along, sometimes it's unique mechanics to allow you to manipulate the interface. Whatever it is that hooks you, eventually you get tired of walking on a treadmill. If you're tired of this particular one, and your "worth wasting more of my time on" says you are, so be it. Get off the treadmill.

What I don't understand is that you and others come here regularly and post insults to the devs like "pathetic", "****", and "f*@#ed in the head". That is not a constructive means of offering feedback that would allow for a dialogue on ways to improve the game. I understand that many people have invested a lot of time and money (myself included) who want the game to remain a popular and a fashionable treadmill to spend time on. There are better and worse ways to express these sentiments. So if you want the game to be good again (from your perspective - I'm still quite enjoying it and think it's reasonably good still), great, offer your feedback. If you're not looking for the devs to improve the game, then you're just posting insults and I can put on my mod hat and lock this thread.

I just had to comment that I finally see a player with similar, reasonable amounts of HP/ISO and not some gazillions D:
And yes 1 point retals are EVIL scrap them please.

You do realize that if they begin restricting who you can fight based of point disparities, you won't be able to hit any high value targets. This means your climb will be just as tedious getting the points in as it is replacing thosd you lost.
