Second week in a row, 25 pinkies -- now...

I'm going to be honest, I didn't really know what the "Server Issues" were last week, but now I'm pretty sure I do -- and because even I am guilty of getting lost in a lot of what is done wrong; I just want to take a second to say this is an example of exactly what I appreciate for the time and money I give to a game.

Small tokens of compensation when things go wrong make me feel appreciated as a player and consumer.

Thank you for taking the time, now 2 weeks in a row to do this. No, it doesn't make up for a bug being repeated twice -- but it does show me that you appreciate my patronage of your game.

    I think you mean 25 pinks/jewels.

@bken1234 - I totally agree with you. I think that it shows respect for the players (by the developers) when compensation is given when mistakes happens.

I hope this is going to be the modus operandi from now on. Though, I hope that it will not be necessary to do so very often.

    Thanks D3/Octagon.

    Well I disagree.
25 jewels is a small compensation for not beta testing an event or a new card. And the small guy still make any game were he is in library of a player very, very slow.

Okay you can walk around of those bugs. Do not use him and don't play for 18h on Saturday. But that's not right way I think.

Not beta testing will bring issues like endless jewel (or at least more you can ever use), that result in a hard system restore. That did not kill the game.... Not yet.

25MJ are nice to have. But I would not pay a much more real money for such a porcelain tower, that get shuttered every now and then.

    Sooooo....

What your saying is it was better when we had a less stable game and got nothing?

    Ok.

    I disagree.

I've been here almost 4 years. The game is far better than many other periods in this game. In those periods I spent way more money and lost way more rewards because the game was way less stable, the rewards for things were fewer, the opportunity to advance was less. When something went wrong, there was absolutely no response. We lost whole weekends with nothing. Not 25 jewels, not an apology, not anything.

This weekend I lost 18 hours of play time and got something free. I didn't even lose a single charge or single point in AWR because of it. Basically I spent 18 hours having my real life and still got something free. That free thing was an apology. It was good manners.

I will not be ungrateful for an act of good manners after 4 years of being ignored. It shows they are trying.

This game is a roller coaster. I'm still here.

I'am here since only 3 years, and yes there always were bugs. Sww isn't new to me.

What I wanted to say, if I had a choice I would prefer a stable game instead of 25MJ and fight for rewards for myself.

The reward structure is a whole different problem. I remember bigger 'sorry gifts' from the past. And issues weren't that big that the game have to rollback like a month ago.

    Okay, maybe we just differ.

Yea, it’s funny that the compensation is a big deal. Hibernarium ALWAYS compensated the players for mistakes make, its only when octagon became in charge did that stop.

Well obviously it would be better if the game actually worked, but that is off topic -- the point of this thread is after almost 4 years of significant bugs and issues every time we have a new event we almost never get even a word. Now twice we have a small gesture of apology...

This thread is about communication. There are lots of other threads where you can add your dismay about yet another non working event. This one is about finally doing something we asked for.

No, Hibernium did always compensate, at least until late KLD/early AMK when they were going under and every bug was met with all caps forum posts demanding free stuff.

That was a loooong time ago though.  Once they stopped for long enough everyone just kind of got used to the silent treatment.

You don't remember Hibernum ever compensating us?
Well if the game has been around that long, one would probably need to keep a log book of highs and lows to teuly have their experiences in order.

I remember being compensated for very big things very ewrlyon, however I also remember the game being way more less stable and getting nothing for things like this.

Ah, I understand. You remember Hibernum compensating us, but you don't remember them ever always compensating us.
We have had WAY more compensation from Oktagon than Hibernum — however — have we considered this is a moot point. We are comparing the IT staff of the game? Call me crazy, but I’m inclined to think compensation decisions would come from the producers — and they’ve been a constant.

Call me crazy but maybe the moderator shouldn’t be belittling the way the players feel. I would think that the moderator is there to in fact help facilitate conversion instead of constantly playing contrarian. Moderators on the forum injecting their little dose of propaganda here and there isn’t gonna fix the bugs, errors and slights that the player has to deal with every day, every match.

It think it would be a lot more helpful if the forums questions were given answers instead of being met with criticism and combativeness.

So short: I can say 'you are right' or comment on another thread?

Btw. I disagree on communication course too. Yes it was worser. But it also had way better times. Sneak peak comes  late this time and QnA is now a joke in this forum...

And this game compensate before. Not for every sww, but sometimes without asking and more often if you used a support ticket.

I thought a little bout it reviewed my back communication witch support...

The weren't such big issues that need an backup-restore (final player-level-issue) or breaking all events for everyone who play in an event on two consecutive weekends.

25 of whatever non-real-something is okay, but I invest time (and real money) and that's not what I want, when I choose something to entertain me!

    It's becoming worser not better!
To make a bigger point on an I doesn't make it better!

But at least an fix foe the small guy and his event is near. I assume because 'sneak' calendar is more retrospective yet and the event is canceled for this weekend.

I play Legendary:Game of heroes and when they mess up, they immediately offer rewards and an apology.  Other games have done the same. MTGPQ is one of the few that almost never did. Now those other games addressed their problems going forward and many players took the stance you're taking. Stuff your rewards and give us a stable game. But in reality what they are saying is stuff your apology and give us a stable game. In the perspective I would have to ask... why should they when we won't even accept an apology? Mistakes happen. If they are willing to acknowledge that and offer some compensation and work towards correcting the issue. Then I say that's a win for all involved.

    Good point!

But wouldn't be beta testing a better option?

I have more money than time to spare and I'll not hesitate to invest the first to save the second... if it works. That's my point!
