Are any sets leaving standard after 3.5 release with the new set?

    Nope!

Standard doesn't rotate until there are 8 (non-Origins) sets in standard, then the 9th triggers the rotation.

With WAR we will have IXN, RIX, DOM, M19, GRN, RNA, and WAR.

That means there is room for 1 more set (M20 this summer most likely), and then whatever the fall set is will trigger rotation (prob November/December if the devs keep up the month delay between paper and PQ)

Thank you very much for your quick answer!!!

Looking forward to Standard shifting finally. I know they extended it so we could use our cards longer but this was a long ride for Ixalan.

    Sweeeeeet.

Not that I really use much of Ixalan, but Rivals was really good to me, I'll be sad the day that goes.

Thanks for the help, @Mburn7! Once a new set has been added, players can also view what the current Standard Format is by following this forum thread: What is the current Standard Format?

One addition to this (and correct me if I’m wrong @Brigby ) When the rotation does happen, the 4 oldest sets will rotate out — and then rotation will take place once a year with 4 sets rotating out like in paper.

When the rotation occurs, then yes. XLN, RIX, DOM, and M19 will move to Legacy.

As for the frequency of the rotation, I suppose that would really depend on how quickly or slowly new card sets are being introduced into tabletop Magic: the Gathering
