Does anyone think that the sub might END when the progress bar fills up? I know there is also a timer, but the event wording says "Do as much damage as you can to SHIELD" before the Mayhem bar fills up and the Avengers arrive. Doesn't that suggest that you won't be able to do any damage to SHIELD after the bar fills up?
Either we get new nodes, or the timer is the failsafe if the points total is not reached after 36 hours.

The timer is 48 hours, not 36, by the way.

It would certainly be good to know. Makes a big difference if you're timing your refresh against the timer or the estimated end of the progress bar. LA looks like it will be done inside of 20 hours.

EDIT: Also, did they change the LA progress bar from 100M to 85M since the event started? I could have sworn LA and Wakanda had the same progress bar targets when this began, and now they don't. That could account for point discrepancies that some people are seeing, if there was some sort of OSCORP style readjustment AGAIN (as stupid as that would be on their part).
Huh. I just assumed 36 hours without actually looking, thanks for that.
Didn't expect two good end times for Europe in a row, Saturday evening. Wow.

They started out different. They did something similar in an event a while back where the "hard" mode had a lower target.

Yargh. Everything but the Sentry team-up node are Hard or higher difficulty, so I probably won't be spending too much time in Wakanda. I'll focus more on LA, but I imagine the point values will probably end up staying low. Guess I'll see again in 12-ish hours.

On the plus side, I'm only 5 levels away from a maxed 5/3/5 Ares. Thinking I might keep him this way... until I get a Red cover, then I'll wonder what to do. icon_razz.gif

i thought consensus was 4/4/5 ares

Thanks for that. I'm clearly jumping at shadows at this point.
  • so... 2 hours gone by LA is at 10%

possible outcomes, added nodes when avengers show up, D3 steps in and doubles the needed total/nerfs nodes or sub ends after 20 hours

    what you all think?

The event says (just under) 2 days left, while if you look under Event Rules in both subs, it says 1 day next the to progress % value. My guess would be a new node, and that the prizes or enemy levels or something like that depends on whether we fill the bar up before the timer runs out. It could just be that we'll get access to that node earlier, but that doesn't seem worth it, so I suspect something else.

    Pretty much this.

IMHO, it's going to be like the Brotherhood nodes in episode 4, where hitting the target opened up a one-time mission worth 1000 ISO.

thanks for info, im new so havent played that, although thats kinda disappointing thinking that there is a goal but its just an eventual 1 time node... kinda anti climatic

I've been hoping for these for ages - a new dawn for villain events this is.

In Episode 4 the extra node can be done once for a reward of 1000 or 2000 iso (forgot which) so it's a pretty decent boost. It's supposed to be just something extra for people to shoot for.

Of course, it can be something else totally different too (like bracket ending immeidately when bar is filled), but hopefully not.
  • Would be nice if it was like the Hulk event and, when the progress bar was filled, we get something free.

And yeah, hoping we do get subevents that have a Big Prize node at the end of it.
  • so i have low low level nodes right now with low points so imma wait till the points go up.
  • Ok, sub leaders have 1k over me already in LA, 2k in Wakanda.
Are they grinding all nodes into oblivion or am I missing something here?

I was wondering the same thing, 1k and 2k difference in LA/Wakanda, I did every node once and the daken node 2 or 3 times in each. The highest node is at 89 ATM in LA, i guess if you grind everything to 1 you might make a 1k lead... but you are screwing yourself for the rest of the event.

I would like to commend D3 for always trying something different in these episodes but it always seems like they stub their toe and fall flat on their collective faces =/

Those guys indeed have every node down to 1, and it's awfully hard to catch up to them with the new rubberbanding. Your best hope is that the scaling will mess them up later, because otherwise you're not catching up to that.

It is also nice to see that Shield is an equal opportunity employer.

No no, these are *gold* minions. See, they have an art upgrade and everything! Their names and abilities may be...similar...but that's to save on development time for important things, like figuring out this afternoon's iteration of the rubberbanding mechanic and brainstorming new ways to implement progress bars!
