Magic: Puzzle Quest is not about interacting with the opponent. The opponent is a computer! It's a puzzle game where you try to solve the problem of how to win (and solve objectives) in the most efficient and/or interesting manner, depending on your preference.

The so-called fix in 3.1 only slows but not stops the combo. Actually I'd feel no different at all since I always manual stop repeatedly casting Expansion since I got a load of hand already.

A ready-to-go BSZ every turn is already good enough.

What really frustrating is that blue still get very unbalanced combos and is in fact getting worse with each new set coming out.

Now I'm very lazy building decks. I simply include a blue PW, then put BSZ, Expansion, StV, Spell Swindle, Quasiduplicate +5 strong cards to overcome every objectives (I can even burn myself with a graveyard Beacon Bolt if I need to). That's too efficient despite the lacking of fun.

I do not need a nerf. Simply make more fun combos for OTHER colors. Token is **** because of the 3-creature limit. Undergrowth is **** because there is simply not enough method to discard. Convoke? The only 2 Mythics are both bugged so I can't tell.

I'm sorry you feel that way.
Personally, in playing paper or PQ I've alway been building combo decks that if possible net me a one turn win, it's just my playstyle.  It also means I lose against efficient discard decks or can get swamped by a good nahiri but thats the rock to my scissors.

I remember the first kiora loop i built back when she was first in the vault. making a 40/40 island token for the first time gave me quite a rush. I don't play to win perse, I play to win with the biggest token stack, or the biggest damage spells or how many extra turns I can get out of gonti's heart.

I agree with @garycsl that Combo's in other colors are warranted since my  go to PW's are invariably Bolas, teferi (and huatli 2)

Also, I think that there should be a way to speed up or skip animations: making aG/W match with huatli 2 when you have a decent tokenstack is just painful to watch (as opponent AND as player), the same goes for llops and semi loops. It's not the losing to a loop i think, it's having to wait till the whole thing plays out.

Anyway, I think nerfing is not the way to make the game healthy AND fun, I think we need good answers to loops, and more options over the board....

This update was a hard/overkill answer to loops. @starfall infinite loops is a feature for many card games and many people like the play style. This is not unfortunate. though loops have been nerfed, fast ending combos are possible  in both standard and legacy. This is also a play style that many like and exist in other card games as well.
In terms of fast, all colors are pretty fast except that mono black has reliable support removal.

The game has unecessary and slow animations that slow the game. The presentation  screen before the game starts should be removed, reward gained for runes, crystal, pink and points  can be presented in 1 screen, shouldn't need to tap tap tap to view each

Especially when you create copies matching 5 for extra swap. You have full hand of unusable spells...

But to say that non-interactive combo decks aren't what you signed up for is just not true at all.  You don't have to play them (I almost never do because they bore the hell out of me), but please don't stop playing a game you enjoy because other people do.
But the game that I enjoy playing is gone, replaced by the game that you enjoy playing. And I don't begrudge you that, carry on enjoying it.

WOTC understands that paper MTG can be all things to all people, from the crazy combos of Vintage to the tightly controlled competitiveness of Standard. As a Standard player, I thought there'd be a place for me in this game, too. But every format is Vintage in MTGPQ now, and that seems to be what people want, too.

Given how much the combo deck just got nerfed, I'm not sure what you're unhappy about. You got exactly what you wanted.

It's just a part of it that got nerfed. The near infinite combo still is a thing, not only just as potent as it was before grn came, but even better. I now am back to around 300 damage in a turn and not go up to 900..so Combo is still a valid topic.
I still find the solution very primitive and don't like it at all, but it's good they did something.

My main issue is..after you get it up and running, there is little reason to play anything else. It's boring - not as bad as cycling, but still dangerously so.

Yeah, sorry about that. But it may not be what you think.

But so you know, there are many different kinds of players in this game.

For me, i dont have a lot of time and since im in platinum ive got daily events.. err "tasks" to do. These include training grounds, trial of the planes, and rising tensions and since ive played them quite often i try to just get em done as fast as possible and then enjoy the game or do other things.

I guess these combos are like.. running a dishwasher for me. I dont have time to handwash all my dishes so we just put em in the dishwasher and then go do other things. Such a bad analogy... laundry machine?

But if i have time ill see about building new fun decks, not always the overpowered bash face deck. Those are satisfying in their own right but sometimes you just wanna build some janky gate deck or desecrated tomb bat deck.

So there are all types of people here and some people are of multiple types! But sometimes you just need that fast kill to get your "to-do" list done and over with. And sometimes you just want to test limits. And sometimes you just want that powerful feeling instant gratification. Sometimes your just bored. Lol. Etc, etc. Many flavors.

My point is there is still a place for you. I say this because i have a feeling i felt the same way when i was first starting out in this game. The overpoweredness was real and real annoying. But now here i am at the other end of it and realize some of it is natural evolution - I mean your not always going to use serra angel if youve got baneslayer angels lying around, right? But also some people are just grinding away at their task list.
