How about starting the event with the full amount of charges we now get over the entire weekend. 8 or 9? No recharges. Whenever you join.
So you have the whole weekend to clear them, all at the time it suits you most.
I know I will not clear all my nodes today because the last recharge happens 20 mins before heading to work, and that stinks.
So your idea Kinesia of dropping that last charge would've benefited me greatly today...

Unfortunately, they want you to keep logging into the game every X hours more than they want to convenience you.

Yep. But 1/4 is already better than before, 1/5 and knocking off the last node would be great to me but.....

Maybe they could experiment with 3/8 or something?

Well, previously they did that with a lot of nodes up front, and some people complained because they feel like they have to do them all right away. I'm not criticizing those people; I actually have the same impetus and am anxious until I get all my nodes cleared down to the timer.

I just think that HJ16's suggestion, which has been made before and is entirely reasonable from a player perspective, doesn't match what the developers of the game want. They want numbers, and those metrics include getting people to visit their game multiple times a day. Other mobile games are similar.

I see this and I think "Ya, that sounds legitimate"; then, a moment passes and I look at the game realizing it's Wednesday and I'm not opening it because it's not Friday and there's nothing happening in this game during the week. Then I think "If that's their goal, they are failing miserably".

Ok, let's write it on every thread discussing it:
    - a reasonable amount of charges: 30 seems the sweet spot
    - a longer buffer of time, where no more charges are added, to complete the event in every time zone: 20 hours seems reasonable, instead of the actual 6.
    Please

30 charges would be nice. 20 hours might a bit too long, but it should be more than 6 for sure.

I agree completely that they seem to have a failure to grasp what actually motivates people to log in.

At the same time, it's Wednesday, and I've spent a couple of hours off and on today playing AX, ToTP, and TG, and that's a perfectly fine amount of play for me.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all in favor of them adding more content for people that desire more --I don't know why there isn't a non-coalition PVP event running constantly, to be honest, except that they don't want to dispense rewards--but I think that if you aren't opening the game between Wednesday and Friday, it isn't for lack of things to do. It's for lack of novelty.

I think it would require significant programming to extend the last recharge -- the way it's written right now, it will automatically recharge every 8 hours.

Another solution would be to give all charges up front.

I don't love this solution because I think people should be rewarded for engaging daily -- so I offer this:

Start with full charges -- but if at 24 hours if at least 2 rounds are not cleared, 1 set of charges is taken away -- at 48 hours if at least 5 rounds are not cleared, another is taken away.

Maybe just fundamentally come up with a new Event style/design.

    Scrap nodes/charges style.

    I realize that's a much bigger ask.

Current events still utilize templates made years ago now.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the format.  I just think its a misguided design.  The new events are so complex they take ages to play, it takes me almost an hour to finish just 1 round of nodes.  And we only seem to get an event every other week.  That's what makes it feel like such a chore.  We go from nothing to do to needing to spend 3+ hours a day on an event.

We want more events because there is nothing to do in the game right now, but we want events that have less time commitment.  If I want to be able to log on for a quick 5 min break at work and play a game I should be able to (I mean I can, but its just Training Grounds or Across Ixalan which don't really feel like anything other than a time-waster).  I almost think we need more Enraged matches.  The reason it was so loved was because it made matches much quicker.  It only became hated because every event started using it.

I agree with a lot mburn says ^^ there.
Less time-intensive events being my personal wish

    Something fresh might be invigorating.

I just think no matter what, events built off the template are doomed to feel "same-y" very quickly.
