There should be two training grounds

Now, if they add some way of pulling decks saved for other events into the TG pool, your preferred idea would work great.

could create a user called greg that uses the master
decks. surely there are default options for those who
are first to enter tg?

I really do wish both options were available everyday, somehow; that doesn't obligate you to have to play it; but rather, gives you the option to choose one or the other. *sigh1 -

I think we are on the same page and want essentially the same things; but just to clarify:
I was supporting the 1 event with two nodes model (1 node legacy and one node standard). This allows everyone the option to play only standard TG, only legacy TG, or a mix of both. Therefore, everyday, you can play whatever TG or a mix of them. This is truly the best in terms of choice.
Now, there was another proposed option which was to leave the schedule alternating as is but increases the duration to 2 days (so runs for 48 hours). This definitely achieves the goal of having both standard and legacy TG available everyday but ultimately requires you to still have to play standard TG one day and legacy TG another, as requirements to obtain the progression rewards. In other words, should your only goal be to play the required 4 games for the progression rewards, it does not give you the option to play the required 4 games of TG in the format of your choosing consecutively.
Simply put, I want the option to play the format of my choosing for that day or days to clear my objectives. In legacy, i use a quick omni-whir-uncage-gaea-fetch spell deck so that i can just finish my TG games in under 10 mins. On relaxed days i try out new decks and sometimes i play for 30+ mins for my 4 games and i enjoy it; but, i simply cannot do that more than 1 or 2 days out of the week. And usually only the day of or the day prior, i will test standard decks for a brand new event
So i would just appreciate having BOTH available everyday so that i can choose what i want for that day or week to get my rewards. As opposed to alternating between legacy and standard and FORCING me to play in a format i do not wish to, to get my rewards.

I personally feel like both Training Grounds should be run every day and just alter the rewards.
Both should give 2000 Runes and 10 Crystals. Standard TG gives 1900 Runes now. This change would be all of 5 extra crystals a day with increased runes (which we all have been begging for) and wouldn't upset the balance too much.2 -
Let me recap the options proposed so far, from the most generous to the cheapest towards the players:
1) double TG, double rewards: value 2 TGs
2) double TG, 66% of the rewards: value ~1.4 TGs
3) single TG with two nodes, same reward: value 1 TG
4) alternating TG with double duration: value 1 TG
5) single TG with std/legacy toggle: value 1 TG
6) alternating TG: value 1 TG
Solutions 1 to 5 give both standard and legacy options every day.
Solutions 3 to 5 don't ask for increased rewards.
Solutions 4 and 5 are even super easy to implement (at least 4).
Solution 6 (the current) doesn't allow to choose between standard and legacy.
I personally prefer option 1 as a reward for the players after the lousy update experience everybody got, but I will happy with any of the proposals so far.
PS: I hope I summarized all the proposals and I hope even more that d3/oktagon can listen to us one more time1 -
