About 600k is needed to level them to 250. I think one of the posters worked it out.
They could do it for every 50 levels, which they used to do.

Yep! I found a RIso table.. I forget if it was on the MPQ Wiki or here (I think it was here.) It's 619206 Red Iso to level a support to 250, and that's if you get a Rank 5.Speaking for myself, I have no Rank 5s - I have two Rank 4s. I've participated in a lot of the HP promotions, none of the CP promotions, and a few of the actual $ promotions (4* covers are awesome.) The total amount of RISO that I've earned in the three months since supports have been introduced as been... (drumroll please)
295858. So less then half of what I would need to level a support to 250. In three months.
>shrug< I think this is why anyone above the 3* level is indifferent to supports at best. They're not really in the game yet - you can't have more than one or two maxed out at their less-than-top level. I have literally one support soft-capped at 150 - the destroyer gun - it has a 27.15% chance of fortifying a special tile a turn (not bad, really, better than one in four.) But still, that's it. If I want to experiment, I can't.

I think this fear of waste is one of the biggest problems with the core system (the amount of red ISO and ways to get nonbasic tokens is the biggest issue but those are easily fixed outside the system itself).
If you get a decent support there is always that nagging feeling that a better one may come along and invalidate your investment. Characters do not suffer this nearly as much because of required characters and the champion rewards. Even if I champ a character and a better one comes out I do not feel like that investment was a waste.
If I am going to dump red iso into support I need to first get lucky and get a high enough star version of it, decide it is strong based on the supports I have available AND the ones currently released, AND think that in 2 weeks they will not put out one that is even better.
There are only a handful of these "safe" ones in my book. And remember "safe" varies roster to roster. I don't have a usable Black Panther so that's 2 supports I do not even have to think about (I know my first 5 star will be a BP exclusive one. I've come to accept that).
For me the "safes" are:
Vibranium Ore (min star 4): Unlike most bonus AP skills this one does not care if the supported character is doing the matching. This means you will be able to slap it on the required character and make your actually good characters get more AP in their best color. Plus the Rank 2 skill plays really well with Jessica (who on my roster is at 13 and is waiting for Iso to champ). It seems unlikely they will make a better general use support that protects weaker characters who wear it while buffing the OTHER stronger character at same time.
Web Shooters (min star 4): Once again showing how much it varies from roster to roster. My only champed 5 star is Parker. While the Beads were close, the shooters combination of blue match and tier 4 crit (along with a lil gravy of web tiles) is a combination I do not think will be beat for Parker.
Royal Talon Fighter (min star 2-3): This one I only have at 2 so I am not investing yet but am hoarding basic tokens waiting for it to be added to the draw list. That Synergy perk will likely not be beat on Okoyoe to begin with. Combined with AOE and her passive this one gets gross with large iso investment.
Perfect example of getting burned in action. I would have had Ebony Maw on this list 2 days ago. Tier 4 black AP skill (75% to gain 3 black at level 250) and some sprinkles on top? No way a better support for Vulture will come out! Oh... wait... Now you can get 72% chance for SIX as a TIER ONE skill? Only a matter of time before they make the black version of the Quantum Realm tier 1 skill. Guess I was wrong. LUCKILY I never got an Ebony Maw. But if I had I would have dumped red iso into him all day thinking it was a safe investment. I just hope I am not proven wrong with the 2 I have leveled to 100 so far (Ore and Shooters). I am getting uneasy on shooters thinking about what a crit bonus on a new style support could be.....
More red iso would help this a little bit but until we are swimming in enough to experiment this fear of new ones being better will always be a barrier to entry into the deep end of the system and an inevitable frustration for those that do go deep.7 -
I have enough red Iso to max out a 4* support but not sure if I'm ready to fully pump up my Wong just yet2

Years ago they reduced the ap boost cap from +3 to +2 because starting a fight with that much ap was deemed too string
Flash forward a couple years and now we have supports that greater than 50% of the time will start with 6 ap. Crazy

Ugh... The trend of bundling a 'must have' support with a new character continues. Okoye, Iron Spider, Wiccan, Wasp and now Ghost all release immediately with a support obviously keyed to that character. This just keeps reinforcing my belief that you are deliberately designing characters that are imcomplete without their support to make people spend. AND you are taking away from the original message that supports were meant to customise a character, its not really custom when there is a clear 1:1 this support definitely goes on this character6

It did say "equip to any character" or equip to character from X group of characters. I think it's a matter of creativity on how you use x support with y character. All the three powers are generic enough to be used with almost any character.0

Ebony Maw's black possible generation for Vulture is also pretty stellar.
This one looks pretty interesting, especially for Ghost, as it gets her over halfway to invisible at the beginning of a match.1 -

The original announcement that they were reducing from 5 to 3 perks in order to have more substantial perks was met with numerous posts asking if they would tweak older supports (or possibly allow for a reallocation of Red ISO for those that already leveled older supports), and a significant number of posts suggesting that supports didn't need such a tweak in the first place, but rather that support tokens and Red ISO should be implemented into the game more fully so players actually have a chance of gathering and leveling them.
Neither issue has been addressed, to my knowledge.1
