Deck slots on new Walkers

Anybody else notice the deck slot for runes at lvl 60 for for Teferi and Jaya unlock for 2000 runes only, not 20000. Hopefully not a bug and this will be the new norm, now just lower the crystal amount to 60 please!

Or at the very least, have an import feature so that we can paste in a decklist...

Or a screenshot we made earlier.   (Hate the way quoting works, make a small mistake and it looks like Dumas said this!)

If you make a mistake, you can go to 'Drafts' and discard the draft of that comment and start anew.

And yeah, +1 to what @babar3355 said . Right now the most challenging thing about events for me is to remember and craft decks every single run. I have even skipped events lately, due to this very reason.

I really don't get what the big deal is.  I end up tweaking my decks every event anyway, and when I don't I need to make a whole new one anyway.

Sure its a bit tedious when I have a set deck that is drastically different from the one I have locked in, but its not awful.  Certainly now worth all the rage I see here (maybe I'm missing some aspect of this?)

Remember, the deck slots were added in as a nice bonus for top players (who have plenty of currency to spend on an extra slot or two) and as a way to use extra runes.  This debate just feels to me as one of those "we want more free stuff" things.  I mean, for ages we not only had no extra slots, we didn't even have "event" slots, so you had to change your one deck for every single event.  Now that was worth complaining about (and boy did we).

Look, if having an extra deck slot means so much to you, just save up for a couple days and get them (seriously, they aren't that expensive).  Why spend so much time complaining?

How does it hurt you that some people want extra deck slots? What if someone wants to have four different decks saved for one planeswalker? [snip]

It's a quality of life improvement.

Yes, we can all work around it, but it takes time and effort that would be better spent just on the playing.

I kept people AWAY from this game before they introduced event decks for exactly this reason and rarely played myself because it was too much work. Even NOW we cannot slowly tweak decks for story and I do NOT play story because I don't want to break up my main decks. Some story stuff is meant to be puzzled out over time and yet, because I don't have deck slots and it doesn't allow event decks, I am locked out of that, I have to wreck a normal deck and I CAN'T easily take my time and do a bit here and there because I have to recreate things every time.

There are places where needing to redo decks is ok or even fun, but needing to do it everywhere for everything, that's the excessive onerous mildly malicious part.

But why the game has to be tedious? I know they need money, but they also need engaged players and annoyed players that have to rebuild a deck every single event are not engaged

Well good for you. But most people I have talked to don't see it as just a "nice bonus", as if it were something kind that the devs did for the players, who were otherwise undeserving of such a generous gesture.

I don't mean it quite like that, my point is that the creation of the event slot solved most of the issues with not having deck slots.  Getting extra ones to save multiple decks is the nice bonus.  I usually just take my most-used deck and put it in the slot for each walker, and then build my 1-off decks as needed.  The only exceptions are Nahiri and Kiora, who I bought an extra slot for to save my legacy decks (since those are by a long ways my best legacy decks).  For a 1 time purchase that isn't strictly necessary for gameplay I don't see what the issue is.

My favorite thing is deckbuilding and I've purchased extra slots for most of my PW's (that I enjoy brewing on most), but it's definitely not enough and 20k runes is stupid (I've only purchased the crystal ones and the two new ones for 2k runes).

I think they should be free and unlimited as well.

...I caved to the tediousness and spent all my crystals and runes on new deck slots...

Except, it didn't solve the issues since most people still complain about it. I'm glad that you like the way it works now for you. Not everyone is you though. Maybe some players have more cards than you do and like to have more decks saved. Maybe some players are more creative than you and like to have all different kinds of decks saved, like aggro decks, control decks, creatureless decks, troll decks, etc. Your argument is simply "you guys don't need this things because I don't think you need them." Opinions are meaningless. The fact is, there are players out there that want this. The fact is, if Oktagon added more slots they would be used by other players. You wouldn't be forced to use them. Their addition wouldn't have a negative impact on your gameplay experience. I use the event slot to create event decks each time because I like to have decks saved for my PWs that aren't restrained by stupid objectives. I don't enjoy wasting time to rebuild my old decks each time certain events come around, I'd rather spend that time just playing the game. Why is this a problem for you?

What exactly is your issue here?  That there aren't enough deck slots, or that they are too expensive?

My argument is that they are costed fine as is, since they really are for a niche group of players.  Obviously I don't care if they add more to purchase, that doesn't affect me at all.

I get what you're saying, it's just an annoyance that would increase game enjoyably if it was removed.

Like mandatory in-game ads.  Yeah it doesn't harm you to watch them, but if they come up too frequently it does begin to get annoying.

I still maintain that if mtgpq should just throw in a 3-times per day "Watch this ad and get an easy 100 runes/orbs!" and on the 3rd add you get a 5 crystal, I mean...*cough* 15 crystal *cough* bonus :)

The problem with limited deck slots is that it reduces creativity. Lots of people just try to build archetype decks that can be tweaked for lots of objectives instead of having fun making lots of decks. Personally, I think having some way of importing/exporting decks from/to text would help a lot. It would also make it easier to try a deck someone else made it you could just copy and paste the text version. The deck setup can already deal with a deck containing cards you don't own and legacy cards, and they must already have some sort of indexing for the cards, this shouldn't be too hard.

As DBJones says, there _are_ cards I want to experiment with and ideas I want to try, but that kind of thing is "a bit here and a bit there" and you still need to play the events in the middle of it and go on with the everyday.

It's a bit like trying to do a jigsaw puzzle (which might take you months) but being forced to clean it up off the table before dinner every night... Sure there are ways around it, but it's annoying enough that you just don't do the jigsaw puzzle...
