Events are too easy

Even if Bo4T is a challenging event we still got 2 out of 3 PVE events super easy and a lack of PVP event. We use to have a standard non-coalition PVP event during the week and now we don't have it anymore.

With these PVE events being easy and quick to finish it simply means nothing to do on Tuesday and Wednesday. Boo that. Gimme back Emrakul or Terror.

Also I think only the final fight should be repeatable or all fights repeatable after beating all of them first (not objectives per se).

I see this also as a long term motivation problem for some long time players. There is content for all kinds of players, except those who managed to acquire a large collection of good cards, and there are couple of them around. I am all for giving newcomers something quite easy to work on, cause for them it's not that easy like for us. But on that same line, I wish they'd give us veterans the same challenge. Something to tinker on, something to get mad about. Something that makes us LOSE A MATCH in PvE (crashes and freezes don't count). Every time a new event emerges, I am hopeful that at least one node would give me a headache. Nope. I won against the third and the fourth node with an automatically created deck. That's how desperate I am for a challenge.

*sigh*..... have we been flooded with masochists who prefer Trial of Zeal and Elenda every damn day over some kind of breather events like this?

Those seeking challenge can wait for Battle of the Four Tribes for all we care; there's no harm having nice and easy stuffs like these Dominaria events every now and then for crying out loud -_-

And btw, I am a Platinum.
Having one semi-challenging event every other week isn't really enough.  And Elenda isn't hard, just long.  I haven't lost to her in ages (Vona is more challenging sometimes).

The issue is the thing that makes this game "fun" more than anything else is deckbuilding.  Repeating the same event over and over again just means that after the first couple, you aren't deckbuilding anymore.  The standard rotation is great for this, since it forces you to at least change a little.  But more difficult nodes in other events (even if it is just 1 fight) would go a long way.

Battle of Four Tribes consumes our whole weekend. This is a game, not a job. I currently agree with short events.
There is a difference between short events and challenging events.  I agree that BoFT takes up a bit too much time (especially the last 2 nodes), but the shorter events are way too easy.

there's got to be an in-between somewhere!

    Something like...

    a new version of Avacyn's Madness ;)

Hmm, I wonder if the later Journey Through History chapters will be harder? If each one is harder than the one before, the fourth chapter might actually be quite hard.

Personally, I think having easier events is great, the lack of other events running is the real problem. Especially the sudden lack of a legacy PvP during the week.

    I
tried it. It works! And the decks were really bad, no synergies whatsoever, pws outdated, still it weren't even close matches.

The final boss really should be Spirit of Mairisil, make him something like 600hp.  All he casts are:

    Creature: Rat Colonies, and Revenent

    Support: Prism Ring

Spells: Tormented Thoughts (only ever targets Revenent or the zombies it creates, never Rat Colonies), and Infinite Obliteration.

Mana Gains: +5 red, +5 black, +5 blue

Give him an indestructible support with "At the beginning of your (Mairisil's) turn, if your opponent (you) has no cards in hand, your opponent's (you) creatures all take 2 damage and the last creature you controlled that was destroyed is returned to play and then reinforced.

Lore: Lim-Dul's necromancy was only possible because of his magic ring which was actually Mairisil's soul.  After the war, Jaya picked up the ring and Mairisil spent years corrupting her mind until she turned on Jodah.

The true final battle to this saga is in Jaya's mind as she battles Mairisil's influence slowly trying to control her.

Use this as the boss picture:

Players who don't know magic lore will be like "Who the heck is that??"  That's not on any mtgpq card!"  And then they'll google it and they'll learn about the mtg lore, thus fulfilling the entire purpose of this event :)

It's the same problem we have been having for over a year.  Once we beat the new PvE event in 20 minutes there is nothing else to do... at all.

on a related note, I have a paper mtg deck that runs a lot like the lore of Mairisil.  Takes about 2,000 years to get it moving...but once I do it breaks the 4th wall of magic the gathering and there's no card developed yet that can stop me.  No infinite combos either.

You ever kill 10 opponents at once with a general that also happens to be an aura attached to a creature?  That also happens to be a single aura attached to 10 creatures?  That also happens to be a mountain?

To be honest, everytime I play that deck I get a headache >.<

Agreed. I'm fine with short events and/or no-pressure events, but I'd love for week-long quick battle events to be there in the background for when I've got time to burn. I understand they don't want people grinding out to always get the wins, so what if total games was capped at 15-20 per day, and you received points per win based on a system where commons are worth more points than uncommons, which are more than rares, which are more than mythics? Players who run all pauper have the highest point potential, but also run the risk of losing out on points. Should see some interesting, funky decks emerge that make use of cards currently collecting dust, will give us all something to do during event downtime, and it's not easily abusable for resources/rewards. A trifecta of winning.

Please DM me that decklist.  I guarantee I don't have any of the cards, but I definitely want to see how this monstrosity works.
