    Well...let's see what happens. Magic the Gathering survived Homelands, I'm sure Octagon will make it through this okay.
    Good Lord, I HOPE they playtested this thing before they release it!

    Change the cards, even if it takes an extra week or two to release them. We can wait for better results.

    Just like with the previous developers, the question comes to mind if they actually play-test their creations or they just come up with something that sounds right and let us find out if it works or not.

    They certainly don't check the grammar on the cards - I have a theory they use some algorithm for the text and it's auto-applied to the cards based on the code for the card so they don't (have to) type anything, hence why plurals always show up for some things and singular show up for others and long-winded descriptions show up for abilities that could be described in half the time - so I wonder how much they play before they put it out there for us.

    But we'll see how it goes...
    I'm reallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreally hoping that the released cards were the beta versions thrown out to give us more of a general idea of what is coming; and that Octagon has more polished (and play-tested) versions of those cards almost ready to release.

    I doubt very much that they ever playtested anything they did. All the catastrophic failures with events in recent months speak very loudly aginst this.

    @Brigby

    Maybe this poll can serve as a sample focus group for some constructive, collective feedback to Octagon pre-Ixalan release.  Something to consider?

    Remember. Existing cards are going to be altered eventually too. So the cards as we see them may be just fine once everything is adjusted.

    Also I welcome generally higher costs and lower power for the long-term as it will enable more strategies than just “gotta go fast”
    If they nerf existing cards to be in line with these, Emrakul's going to cost 80 mana and battles against 500-hp bosses will take literally hours to complete. As someone else put it in another thread on these cards, the point of MTGPQ is to cast cards; if I just wanted to match gems I'd play Candy Crush.
