I'm going to say that giving newer players more
chances to beat 3.x might be the right idea but
making the nodes recharge too fast is not the
way to do it. I think the change is good as they
need to find a better way.
(taking a step backwards to be able to move
    forwards)

Lowering progression requirements goes to the mid-tier player that has the opportunity at the full 3.x cycle. My kids can’t cross 3.2 no matter how many attempts they get.

I've been trying to work this one out...
My kids aren't up to trying yet because it's a coalition event and we need kidsafe coalitions.
There are network problems playing the game on wifi here and that is all my kids have on their ipads. My wife and I play on our phones but we _have_ to turn wifi off or it doesn't work most of the time.
But yeah, when we get to the point my kids _can_ play...

Moving on to the next fight regardless of whether you win or lose wouldn't completely help but would let them try (and possibly fail still) at something different.

I've been trying to work out something that will help people but not be abusable.

I would love for, after you lose, to be given hints about things you might try, but that will be hard to do effectively since people might have different problems. That's probably out.

The best I can come up with is... _After_ a loss, you have the chance to adjust your deck and just play _test_ games (clearly labelled) until the next recharge that won't count for points, they are only for practise.
Since it's only available after a loss the high players won't usually be willing to do it but it might help beginners a lot.

I totally agree!  We appreciate the effort.

Now to be Debbie Downer.  Seems to me that if you reduce the number of battles by 50% and only reduce the boss health by 20% we might be in for another very long event, although with less stress to get games done.  I am fine with it, I just expect the event to last until Wednesday.

But at least the people who are clamoring for more opportunities to try to beat 3.x will have the extra games even though they will get them a little less frequently.

I think it's a good enough compromise for now.

Hopefully the new team will get rid of this style of event and will come up with something fresh and exciting instead for coalition PVE.

Number of potential attempts per node charge have decreased by 20%.

How would anyone have more opportunities to beat 3.x?

I believe he's referring to the fact that they went to 6-hour refreshes instead of reverting it back to the original 8 hours. In other words, it was a compromise.

And I'm not saying there wasn't a compromise. I'm saying that the people he claims it benefits don't actually do so. And it's actually quite the opposite.

In fact he may have managed to pick the one category of players who definitely lost out in this change.
As @madwren said, the context was it benefits those players relative to reverting it back to 8 hour refreshes.

Your kids can play in their own coalition. Start their own and make it private.

My alt is in a 1 man coalition.

You’re more than welcome to come chat with my group if you like. Although our demographic is squarely 35-45, we did decide waaay back when that we didn’t want to be embarrassed if our children and/or partners saw our messages. As such, we’re not as edgy or “fun” as some of the other groups; instead we focus on being friendly and helpful.

Thanks @Sarahschmara we aren't up to that point yet, perhaps when things are stable and all the networking goes away so they don't have to deal with frustrations I'll think about things more.

Why not just create a private coalition for family.

I played for a month in a coalition that consisted of me.  The prizes were lame, but I got to play the events with no pressure
