Hi Everyone,

For the release of Nightcrawler we will be introducing two new Power Boosts to the game: X-Men Damage and Nightcrawler Damage. These boosts will increase the match and power damage dealt by X-Men and Nightcrawler by 20% (can be stacked up to 5 times each). For a limited time, you can earn these in events or purchase them with Hero Points!

How to Get Them
  • Earned as mission rewards in The Hunt and Thick as Thieves
    • X-Men boosts are found in Hard missions
    • Nightcrawler Boosts are found in the 4-Star required mission
  • Can be purchased with Hero Points in the Boosts screen before entering a battle
    • X-Men Damage Boosts can be purchased for 200 Hero Points
    • Nightcrawler Damage Boosts can be purchased for 100 Hero Points
  • A stack of ten Boosts are purchased at once
  • First available to be purchased 10/18
  • Will only be available to purchase until 10/26

How Does It Work?

  • All Match and Power damage in increased by 20%
    • X-Men Damage Power Boost increases damage for all characters with the X-Men Affiliation
    • Nightcrawler Damage Power Boost increases damage for Nightcrawler (Classic)
  • Each Boost can be stacked 5 times
  • Both boosts can be applied to Nightcrawler (Classic) at the same time to allow him to do 200% more damage!

I'm assuming this means we'll see more affiliation boosts in the future , which could be interesting.
I wonder if nightcrawler is going to get a crash of the titans prematurely

    Well that's... random....

Havn't you heard? There's big money in boosts. I'm gonna buy a ton and sell them for big profit after they're discontinued!

I still have a whole bunch of the retired boosts that I keep as trophies lol. 20% damage to mutants, avengers, xmen, hammer, the brotherhood, etc. to name a few. They say "target lock" instead of "power boost".

Probably didn't cost them much development time since it's something they kind of already had years ago and took away.

Back in olden times there were a number of other boosts, some pretty exotic.  Does anyone have a list or remember more?

New boosts are excellent. I was just talking with someone about how boosts are an incredibly stale game element that could use "something" new.

Seeing them as an option to support team affiliations is cool. I'd love to see team affiliation boosts added to the random boost rewards.

Having a Nightcrawler-only boost is weird and out of place.

Offering them for sale... Probably should have just guaranteed a high acquisition rate and given some out for free. This would be like McDonald's charging for napkins. Sure you CAN, but nobody is going to think good of you for doing so.

If we can buy boosts, obviously D3 have assigned some worth to them.  It would be nice if we could sell them back; 30 team-up boosts gets you 100 HP, or 2 CP, or something.

Does this mean we can eventually expect character-specific boosts for all characters? +200% Dr. Strange here we come

How about 200% Rocket and Groot. 3 times the boosted power of the passive strike tiles with GotG affiliation.

So, I'm wondering how these are different than the ones I currently still have in the bottom left there:

Nah, it's brilliant. You want to use the new character, but he's just a baby? These will help a bit.
There's already a method to handle using new characters in the game, and that's the New Character boost that runs for several weeks when they come out. And that is infinitely better than these, because a level boost increases health as well, which keeps them alive long enough for you to get to use them.

Single Character boosts are like the **** half of the system already in place. If they wanted a boost to be useful for trying out a new character, it should add +1 to a cover (or +1 to all), or it should add +X levels so they get the health boost as well as the straight damage boost.

They are absolutely weird and out of place.

"We're going to greatly reduce shield profit, how can we recapture this?" "Random boosts for characters?"

I am a hoarder in game and still have lying around the following retired boosts:

4 +20% Yellow and Red Damage
7 +20% Blue and Purple Damage
6 +20% Green and Black Damage
7 +20% Damage to Mutants (still want them to add a mutant tag)
    10 +20% Damage to Avengers
    10 +20% Damage to X-Men
    10 +20% Damage to H.A.M.M.E.R.
    10 +20% Damage to Maggia
10 +20% Damage to The Brotherhood
    6 +20% Damage to Doombots
    6 +150% Damage to H.A.M.M.E.R.
    2 +50% Damage to H.A.M.M.E.R.

I also had a lot of the retired +APs but used them on Crashes to triple up on bonus AP over the years.

That’s not a bad idea. Not sure they’d really consider it, considering Black Bolt’s Silent King exists as a power, and adding that as a boost would slightly lessen his value, but a stackable, up to two, “Rank Boost” would be an interesting addition to the game. Let your 0/0/1 character got to 2/2/3 so they aren’t completely useless. It could potentially have a stipulation of “cannot allow heroes to exceed 13/13 covers” so you can’t have a completely broken 5/5/5 Hobofist
