Does Kaladesh block rotate out of standard when Ixalan is released?

Has there been any official word?  I don't particularly care what the answer is, but it would be nice to know.

No official word. No word on much of anything at all for weeks, actually.

Honestly, I wouldn't be upset if it did. There are plenty of toxic cards from Kaladesh that I would be glad to be rid of in standard.

The only thing we do know is that a change  "should be added within the next week or two" per Sept 19 Brigby post about another discussion.

My expectations ... We will know NOTHING for the next 2 weeks.

It may be too bold to ask about changes "When Ixalan gets released".

This is exactly why no one plays standard in Mtg.

According to the information they gave when they introduced standard, it should.

    Origins+current block+previous block.

Nothing is set in stone of course, if they decide it is in their best interest to let standard be larger than 2 blocks, they will. It's'up to us to convince them that it is in their best interest.

Why would we want to do that?

2 blocks + Origins keeps things fresh.

Hey, as long as i get to play cycle decks for the next 3 months till the AKH/HoU set rotates out, I am good.

Yeah. I am totally bored with the game right now. I am ready for KLD to rotate out even though I will sorely miss Rx, MWC, HoK in every single deck.  Maybe Ixalan will have something worth spending mana jewels on.

Uh huh. They like money as much as us.

Personally I haven't spent a dime since standard.. $40 for a card?  No thanks.  Real cash on cads with a combined drop rate of 1% for a mythic/masterpiece?  Hell no.

And they have offered such awful elite packs that its hard to imagine spending on Ixalan.  4000 crystals, 2600 mana jewels, 125 unopened packs.

Now if it was practically possible to collect the whole set, I could easily see myself spending a couple hundred per set.  I would also likely buy some cards at about $10-20.  Oh well.  They only like harpooning whales.  Always turns out good for developers in the long run.

Just to clarify, that comment was in reference to the missing HOU cards that were intended to be introduced in two earlier card releases.

When it comes to the introduction of a new set, I'm afraid I don't currently have any information pertaining to that topic.

That's assuming that we all agree that Standard should be larger than 2 blocks. Personally, I can't wait to see Kaladesh rotate out, even with a lot of useful cards exiting meaningful competition.

Why we would, well atleast the people who disagree with you would want to do that.

Two blocks and origins (which will rotate out in due time) is far too limiting. Like you said before, noone plays standard in paper magic. (unless it's'an organised event)

We don't'have the option to invite some friends and play mtgpq to our own rules, we only have training grounds and some old NON coalition events. (that's'why I think it's'limiting)

Is that sentiment specifically regarding kaladesh?

I thought I was being sarcastic.

Granted I don't play much anymore, but when I do join my friends at the game shop, people are playing standard a lot of the time.

Brigby... You just solidified /  proved my point !

Yes, it was about a different topic... Which I stated...

If the EXISTING packs weren't going to be updated for 2 weeks then we sure as heck weren't going to see ANYTHING ELSE NEW until after that...

My point... Nothing is happening.     People need to Stop asking!

Right now this game is on life support...

I would say Hospice but we haven't come to grips with the mortality and death of the game yet so we sit in denial... and no 'comfort' is being given by D3 about the status of the game's 'health.'

All we've heard is that the Doctor is coming... We'll give you your results soon... I promise you!
