Important News for iOS 7 Users (9/21/17)

Hi Everyone,

With the upcoming R136 update, the development team has uncovered a critical bug in the build for those who would still be playing on iOS 7. It appears that loading any Helpshift page would cause iOS 7 users to crash the game.

This issue is unfortunately unavoidable for R136, however it will be fixed in the following R137 build. In addition, upgrading the OS to a more recent version should prevent players from encountering this issue, as well.

Thank you for understanding.

It's actually pretty good that they're bothering to support an OS that's four years/generations removed from the current one....

It is, but at the same time, they're testing for bugs so late in the patch cycle that potential game-killers that they find still get pushed out unfixed.

Speaking of R136... do we have some notes about what it brings ? Or it is about anniversary and it is kept as a surprise ? @Brigby

Is there any way for iOS 7 users to skip the update until R137??

Perhaps a very relevant and sincere question would be...could they actually cease with updates altogether until the development team can better tune their craft? Certainly holding off until the changes can be properly tested would be ideal. History has proven that each "update" instead serves as a downgrade, leading people to submit CS tickets, to which the automated bots "respond" to, and then this whole vicious cycle goes into effect ad nauseam. The only semblance of a voice any of us have is on this forum and from what I gather, this community is smaller than the entirety of the player base.

There have definitely been some egregious bugs released, but to be fair here iOS 7 is over three years old and is << 2% of the user base (graph at the bottom of https://developer.apple.com/support/app-store/ ). And if they don't have a lot of automated testing, removing a large set of devices and OS combinations frees up QA resources.

    Let's put this into perspective.
First of all this bug is avoidable.

Second, you probably shouldn't be buying Apple products if you don't expect planned obsolescence.
It's normally about a four year run with Apple until your OS stops working well on most apps.

If you're running iOS 7 and can't upgrade, you're probably using an iPhone 4.
Your phone is 7 years old, considering that over half of Apple users upgrade their phone at least every two years, you've done pretty well.

Oh, and please for the love of gawd,  don't update to iOS 11 until at least iOS 11.1 comes out -  (I swear these people never learn), especially if you use exchange or Outlook to send emails.

If you already have, well, here you go, have fun:
