Server Outage - Update (9/15/17)

Hi Everyone,
As many of you are aware, we had a server outage yesterday that prevented players from getting into the game. Our team of engineers were able to identify the issue, and propagated a fix for it as quickly as they could.
In order to bring the servers back online and maintain stability though, they had to remove the game data from older releases. The result of this is that players that resume play on older builds will encounter a "Check Internet Connection" error, instead of a prompt to download a new update. Updating the game to the latest patch should resolve this.
In addition, we understand that this issue has been an inconvenience for many players, so we are planning on sending out a gift to everyone that was affected, as a thank you for their patience.

3000 iso and 150 HP was a slap in the face considering I lost out on t10 PvE rewards. Thanks for nothing D3.

Hey, you can keep the rewards, I'll just take an account restore. Since through some very random circumstances whatever happen yesterday caused my entire account to go back to new player status. Not happy.0

I appreciate the compensation - the only thing the outage caused me to miss was the final lightning round, and 3000 ISO more than covers that loss (I usually play through the seed teams in the first five minutes of the round and then don't play again until the next round starts - probably works out to be about 1200 ISO).0

Are the current issues with not being able to play any nodes and the update download not working because of server connection issues related to yesterday's outage?

Weird thing is, I've been looking at a loading screen for 3 hours, and I haven't received any compensation.

Unless you're new to the game, and still mainly playing for 2* characters, 3000 iso and 150 hp is nowhere near what the outage would have cost a dedicated player.
I understand that things happen that things like this will happen, but there has to be a better response.
Those that were due to start a new event, or flip a sub, at noon, would be vastly more affected than those with a different time selected (early morning, for example) yet they all get the same rewards. Not to mention those that weren't affected at all who played normally, got a great finish in one event, a mostly unopposed start in another, and still get the same reward.
Some didn't even try to login the whole day, yet they get the same rewards.
Obviously, you can't reward people based on what they think they would have achieved, because most would swear by being on their way to t10, and some would actually be right while others try to take advantage, but there has to a better system in place. Perhaps when one that based the reward on placement in the average of the last several events for the individual player. That script should be possible to write into the game. Some work, yes, but it would alleviate the feeling of unfairness.
A plan, that is ready to be implemented prior to such circumstances, that is clearly posted for all to see, so that people know what to expect. "In case of mass outage, or other issues that prevent play, X amount of Y will be awarded to all players, with additional Z being given to those in slices flipping at the affected times, per hour." Would just be an example that could alleviate the current expectation of, "oh, there's an outage. I guess we'll all get a little iso, out some standard tokens that won't amount to anything." That is currently expected.
I don't claim to have all the answers, I just knew the current system isn't working. I'm not a part of some elite alliance where everyone is expected to t10, or they get booted. I created my alliance to give my family a safe place to play and slow new players to have an alliance that doesn't give those expectations. As such, my alliance relies on me contributing to events, giving advice in the alliance chat, and, in the case of specific events, doing the bulk of the clearing so the rest of the alliance can get a chance at those group progression rewards.
I would like to be able to say something more substantial than, "be patient. We are all just sol on this one." When this occurs.
In conclusion, I'm not just flaming the game or anyone else, not ask am I begging for freebies. I'm asking that someone in a position to make things better, reevaluate how you handle these things, and implement a better, more consistent, response.5
