Am I missing something here? I thought that card wasn't even available in-game yet.
Sorry, I don't have the masterpieces properly flagged at the moment

Point is that it isn't broken.

This is Hixus all over again. This is Thopter spy network. This is sandwurm convergence.

The counter to this is easier to pull off than the ones above.

He's basically complaining because his deck isn't balanced and has no support removal.

But what if you are playing Tezzeret 2?

Then you're knowingly running a lopsided deck.

    Tradeoffs.

That's like saying people who didn't run counters to Runaway Carriage back in the day should have no recourse. Just because something is the status quo doesn't mean it doesn't need correction or fixing.

So while in the short term having support removal is the best mitigation, in the long term there should be a fix such as Omniscience not being able to make itself free. With that qualification, Whir of Innovation by itself cannot build up as ridiculous a board state as it potentially can right now.

This deck is basically sandwurm convergence on steroids.

Decks that would lose to this would lose to any token generator deck that's fast enough.

Because the counter is the same, and they don't run it.

The key qualification is the speed. I can apportion a removal spell every two turns to take on Sandwurm Convergence. And those are 5/5 tokens without abilities. Now you're talking about a flood of all the things we stuff our decks with to beat the living **** out of the opponent.

The level of oppression is always a consideration when determining if something is just strong or overpowered.

Actually since the ai always casts creatures first, you can't flood your deck with creatures if you want the ai to cast omniscience with any sort of regularity, or even at all... If your deck has a critical mass of creatures.

You don't need to flood your deck with creatures, you just need to put a few high impact ones with the usual other stuff in the deck.

    For example,
    Dovin Baan
    Heart of Kiran
    Baral, Chief of Compliance
    Omniscience
    Panharmonicon
    Whir of Invention
    Refurbish
    Vindicate
    Pull from Tomorrow
    Reason
    Forsake the Worldly

    You've only got 2 creatures.
Vindicate will not fire if there are no opponent creatures on the board.
Refurbish will not fire without any support in the graveyard, and you want to recur both your supports.
Whir of Innovation feeds the support loop.
Forsake the Worldly will not fire if there are no opponent-owned supports.
Reason and Pull from Tomorrow will help to draw into more cards to cast for free.

    Definitely doable without creature flood.
