I haven't maxed Mockingbird yet, but Bombshell hits for around 21K when she is ~270 and boosted. Carol's is listed as higher damage when both are at 5 covers and 270

I think Carol's is better because it's cheaper and uses black, and has a benefit of staying around.  But Bombshell is close.
Photonic Barrage does 5991 at 5 covers and level 70, while Bombshell does either 6594 or 5001. At level 70 it's 11674 for Carol vs 12843 or 9741 for Bobbi. The same ratios will apply at 366 or all the way up to 550. Bombshell will do slightly more damage at full effect, or somewhat less if one of the tiles is matched away.

The main differences in my eyes is that Bombshell resolves much faster, but doesn't generate special tiles or have any other kind of internal synergy, while Photonic Barrage is slightly cheaper, and has additional effects while you're waiting for it to expire.

Like I said, they're pretty close.

Or, you could just run them both.
Hell, yes I'm going to run them both! I underestimated just how much her red will hit for. The question is who will be the third?

I like the aforementioned Jean Grey combo, but my first thought was Peggy at 3/5/5 plenty of countdowns to fuel Carol's passive.

Another R/Y/B user, Cyclops at 3/5/5 using his blue to fuel Mockingbird's red and board control. His yellow is either going to give you AP or expire and buff some tiles.

Iron Fist at 5/5/3 might be a good choice. Use his blue to fortify Carol strike tiles and his green to fuel her black.

Maybe Kate Bishop at 5/3/5. Her purple and blue hit hard and leave countdowns for Carol. Added bonus of possibly firing off her monster blue at as low as 6 ap with Bobbi's yellow would be delightful.

mockingbird uses her cover shirt as an alt costume. its awesome
The important bit that is missing here is the alternative costume has a CORGI sitting by her.
I didn't notice that the first time around. I now demand pizza dog be added to Kate bishop and hawkguy!!!

I've got her champed and wrote her up:

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/172mkcbadO1eB4o6aLRzhjsGB7tEVNRodyRYjurkyGTw/edit#gid=908725821

Her red's fantastic, her yellow triggers more than I thought it would and her purple is a fine use of the power. She's just a bit weird since she reads as a PvP specialist but is fairly fragile. The two teams I ran her with the most were:

    • Carol/R&G/Bobbi
    • C&D/Vulture/Bobbi

Both were fun, the first one is probably a bit more balanced. I used her to climb late but neither of those teams can really go toe-to-toe with the R&G/GotG teams that are so prevalent for the time being. She's still a ton of fun.

There's a current bug I've run into a bunch of times, when he yellow triggers a free power it doesn't actually use the power until the start of your turn. Patch on Discord said it should be immediate and that's something being addressed. I actually had it fire off on an enemy cascade that ended up killing Bobbi but I still got the free power at the start of my turn.

I've been playing her with Fury since he's boosted this week. With his expensive powers, and boosted damage levels, Mockingbird can be incredible once you get your AP rolling. I teamed them up with Moon Knight for a heavy-damage green-black user.
And you guessed it, I got 2 Moonsilver Blades to fire in a row, for 'free'. Two turns later I got Fury's purple for free. I couldn't seem to gather yellow, but the enemy happened to keep getting match-4's of yellow, which earned me 2 yellow AP each time (Bobbi will earn 3 once I get more covers). This helped get Fury's yellow ready to fire with all other colors at the 5+ requisite. That is a fun power when you get the full effects.

Can't wait to get Mockingbird champed, her red does incredible damage at 5 covers.

I'm on the same exact priority list. MB is at 3/5/4 and a favorite, so I want to draw until I hit cover 13/14 while getting a bunch for Rogue etc.
    Good luck!

Can someone please test if her passive can activate other red and purple power even with Gambit in your team? I expect that Gambit's black only affects firing power manually, but considering MPQ has often been inconsistent and often does thing that doesn't make sense, I think it's better to check by ourselves. (Riri's red doesn't count airborne enemy as inactive, for example...)

    21LTs.
    1 rogue.
4 mockingbird, every single one a bonus cover.
    5 5*s - spidey, 2x doc oc, 2x dd.
not a single wasted cover, everything needed or a champ level.
    still can't believe this.

I noticed an interesting interaction between Mockingbird's Bombshell and 5* Thanos's Infinite Power.

I had cast Bombshell, and then the enemy Thanos cast Infinite Power the next turn.  When the first of my countdowns resolved, it did the high damage but Thanos blocked it from removing the other countdown.  Then the second countdown resolved and did the lower damage plus the self damage.

The self damage was a bit of a pain, but almost doubling the power of her red was a nice bonus.

Someone mentioned this a month or two ago, but I believe it was with their own Thano5.
    Off to test in Sim.
    Trial 1: Thanos killed everyone.
Trial 2: As expected, Thanos purple from either team prevents the 2nd Mockingbird CD from being removed, thus guaranteeing it does it's own damage. This is great as long as you can withstand the self-damage Bobbi will take.

Yeah, I can't see any reason why it would matter which team Thanos was on.  Also, if you double cast Bombshell, three of the countdowns should resolve for high damage and only one for low damage.

And that's assuming you haven't won before the 4th tile expires.

There are a few other ways you can make this work in your favor, most of them involving a power that removes friendly tiles...  Miles Morales can use his "Surpise!" attack and remain invisible, prepared to do it again.  Kingpin can fire black without wasting any countdowns.  Daken does bonus damage without removing strikes.  I'm particularly fond of the Miles Morales one -- if he's already invisible when Thanos puts his purple out, AoE is about the only thing he needs to worry about.

Well I pulled around 27 Latest Legends, and 50+ Heroics.  Right away I got the 6th cover for MB yellow, and the bonus:  6th Rogue yellow. Ha!
So that's why I kept pulling more than I was hoping to. However, overall the covers worked quite well, got a MB red exactly as needed, and a Rogue red toward the end where I stopped. Actually got a few 5* Gambit covers in the pull.

So now, once I get Rogue green from SIM, I'll just about have both MB and Rogue ready to champ within 14 days. The pressure is on for Iso... but should be just fine. Can't wait!

My Rogue is 5-5-2 with 2 red covers on the vine, and 1 green when I will finish the sim. Would you lend me a yellow please ?
