A few weeks ago, their was a thread about "outside communication".  I do not want to go down that road again, but I think some people don't understand how much "outside communication" has driven this game into a community game.  Please vote below.

Maybe.  It's not like we're all wearing badges or t-shirts or have some other distinguishing feature

My brother recommended this game to me and at that time several of his friends were playing too.  I also invited a friend to play, but he didn't last long.  It's down to just me and my brother now.

I haven't met anyone who played that I didn't know before I played.

I have met two people during my travels. One in the US, and one in Singapore. Many of the members of my alliance are Facebook friends, and we talk about quite a bit more than just MPQ. If I know that there will be an ally mate in a city that I'm traveling to, I'll reach out.

    Never forget, Cleo. LOL

I haven't met anyone from the game, mostly because my country is thinly populated with mpq players.

Had real life friends who have been in my alliances.
Enough of my alliance seems to travel (myself included) that likely we could do that. But -- that's less time for mpq then.

I met Lakestone, Cthulhu, and Hi-Fi at GenCon last year and know the people in an earlier alliance I formed, but that's a little out of scope for the poll's intent.

I love the game and all of y'all, but generally when I meet people IRL from forums, we don't have that much in common, other than a shared love of that one specific thing.

I voted "other". I sat beside the guy who introduced me to the game at work. So I've known him longer than I've known about the game by about 1 year. After playing awhile, and finding one of my best friends and his brother played (by chance, thru Facebook) I was up to meeting 3 people, in the loosest sense of the term. I've known that friend nearly 11 years and met his brother about 8 years ago, although I don't know him well. If I've met anyone else I had no idea that I did so. Also, I'm not sure I'd want to randomly meet up with a stranger that I don't know, with the common denominator being we share the interest of a mobile game.

I have made friends through games before and could see meeting up with someone or a group of people under some circumstances.

But, I am extremely cautious about meeting up with anyone when it means them having access to my full real name, not just my first name or a username. Which I know sounds paranoid, but there's a lot of reason for paranoia when you are literally the only person in the entire country with your first and last name combined and all too searchable with the power of the internets.

I met an alliance mate last year.  Dude has a damn good Italian restaurant in PA.  Almost met another one on a west coast trip but he came down with the flu while I was there.  Or so he said...  :p

I met up with 3 other guys from my alliance last year, met up with one of those same guys again a couple months ago, and am going to a ballgame with the other 2 guys in a couple weeks.

I know what you mean. I think I am the only one with my name in the world..
Likely true for me as well. But I can only claim the country with any surety. lol.

Yes, one of my alliance buddies was passing through my city, so we had lunch together. Amazingly, our phones stayed in our pockets...

A few of my alliance mates live close to me (within 10 hour drive) but I've not met them. Though, if I'm ever traveling their way or they mine I'm open to meeting for lunch or something. Even if we just share the one interest, I like meeting new people

I'd happily meet many people from my alliance family, just hasn't happened yet.  Suspect it will at some point.

Have met people from other online gaming and was a great experience.

I know for a fact I'm not. Back when "Googling yourself" was a brand new experience, I gave it a shot. Sure enough, some of the results actually pertained to me, but quite a few were also dealing with a guy by the same name out in California arrested for kiddie porn or something like that. Thankfully, I was never confused for him...
