Just because it was not announced publicly, does not mean a policy change did not occur.  This thread started because of a more recent policy change that was also not publicly announced - a limit on rerolls within a single elite pack rotation meant to curb "gaming the packs for MPs".

But that's only because they didn't have a system in place to check if you have rerolled before.

He was right up until around April 14th (after the threads that I "didn't read") when the response form letter email from customer service changed.  All of the "one time exception" language was dropped, and replaced with some version of "dont hesitate to contact us  if you ever get another duplicate in an elite pack".  No one from CS was being fooled or exploited.  They have access to every request on a per user basis.  I even sent a thank you PM to a few admins at that point - it was a generous move and I wanted to express appreciation.

Yes, we're somehow to believe that this is a change in direction despite being told directly otherwise.

Stop moving the goalposts. Brigby last told us to quit doing this early in May. Nothing changed.

I clarified this again with him in June.

So is it possible that the "restructuring" he referred to allows for multiple rerolls out of different packs and the "malicious players" are people trying to game the system for MPs?

Speaking as a malicious player who spent a bunch of money and had many of the cards in the elite packs, the timing certainly matches my experience.

Only if you're being really generous with the definitions and make lots of assumptions. Such as why call someone malicious when you change  the system specifically to let him do the allegedly malicious deed?

The simpler explanation, that uses only his comments, announcements  and conversations I've had with him on the subject matter paint a simpler storyline.

There was a policy, it was violated. They looked into the loophole and closed it. Now people are complaining.

Edit : to remove all doubt, this was what he was replying to

    Hi,

They're openly talking about doing this now. Please confirm for me that this is actually against the terms and I didn't misunderstand you the numerous times I've brought this up.

I'm sick of being the only one punished for not abusing a flawed system.

The official post was updated June 19.  So no, you didn't read it.

I'll reiterate it just one more time (this is getting quite tiring):

Update: The policy has been changed to limit the amount of re-rolls available, prior to ticket escalation. This update was made to prevent players from exploiting the policy.

Here is the link to the thread where the official post was made.  When you read it this time, pay attention to the time it was last updated (June 19), and re-read the section that was part of the Update.

Now that you have the facts, you can make the decision.  Keep exploiting the system, or man-up and become an honest player.  For the record, I have not used a single re-roll.  I wait until there is an elite pack selection where there is a low percentage for a dupe, and roll the dice.  My "free re-roll" remains as a safety precaution in case I have only 1 card in the set and I roll snake-eyes to proc a dupe.  That is, I'm using the system as it was intended.

I would appreciate it if certain people would stop claiming they know what the official policy is when they are not employees or affiliated with D3 or Hibernum. There is a lot of misinformation and disinformation being spread in this thread. Hopefully, @Brigby or @LakeStone will issue a clearer policy definition in order to put this thread to rest.
That wouldn't happen if the communication policy of this company would be consistent in any way, which it isn't. It's not our fault that there are so many misunderstandings and confusion. Official statements are rare or hidden within threads. It shouldn't be our job to do research before we can form an opinion on what the company wants us to do.

That is true if you're doing it by accident or on misinformation via the rumor mill. The communication as usual is horrible and lots of misunderstandings is the norm.

But the tone has been consistent here when official word is concerned, and people aren't going "oh I accidentally did a bad thing... I'll stop now that I know I'm not supposed to do it" when they learn of it. They're going "this thing benefits me, and I'm entitled to it. How dare they take it away".

That's the response I have a problem with. Nothing wrong with misunderstanding. When you've been told of the misunderstanding and continue to abuse it? Yeah there's something wrong there. Note that this is not the first thread Op posted on this topic, and Brigby himself stepped in the last time to tell him to quit it. He knows. He doesn't care.
