For 2* farming, to give it a number, "costs" you a little less than 8000 ISO each time you sell a 144 character and rechamp them back up to 144.  That figure is taking into account sale of the champ, cost to rechamp, ISO champ rewards, and ISO not gained by selling the covers to get a new 144 rather than applying them to a new champ.

All in all, the command points, hero points, and heroic tokens are well worth the loss of ISO, imo.

Also, I agree with @shardwick on the 5* comment.  Don't roster them until you have at least a robust 3* roster.  You might even  want to wait to roster any until you're in the 3*->4* transition (where I am now).  I had a number of 5*s in my roster before I even had a champd 2*, and it messed up my PvE scaling in a bad way.  I played "hard mode" for a long time until I finally had a respectable 3* roster, and even then it was a challenge.  Now that I have a number of 4* champions, it's so much smoother.

Welcome to the forums, LustIV! It's always awesome to see new people playing the game. A lot of great advice from everyone but I will try to give you the lowdown on each star tier in as concise a manner as possible:

    The tiers for beginners:

1*: You only really need one good 1* for Deadpool's Daily Quest. I prefer Spidey, but Iron Man and/or Juggernaut are good investments. No worries if you already maxed out a few. But no need to max them all.

2*: For beginners, I wouldn't worry too much about farming but it is a good reliable way to get certain 3* characters covers. Here is a pretty good list of what champion rewards each character gives: Champion rewards [by Character]

3*: Definitely try get them all if you plan on playing PvP competitively. They are the backbone for which such events are built.

4*: With vaulting being a thing, I don't know how you should prioritize 4*covers.  I guess for now, keep the characters you like and keep tabs on which 4* are considered top tier but don't worry too much about it until you have built  strong base with your 3*s. (Here's a good, up-to-date guide to the 4* tier: A Mostly Accurate 4* Ranking

5*: Hopefully you haven't touched your Legendary Tokens or CP. Save them for when you think you are ready to play in the big leagues. Some people debate when it's best to take the plunge, but for now let's say after you have strong 3* base. And be sure to save enough that you can pick up at least 2* usable 5* characters.

Fight's Top 3 picks for each tier:

1*: Spider-man/Iron man, Juggernaut, Storm (Full disclosure: I'm a big Spidey fan so bias might play a part in this pick lol)

    2*: Black  Widow, Ares/Thor, Storm

3* Dr. Strange, Iron Fist, Iron Man

4*: Peggy Carter, Captain Marvel and Iceman

5*: Don't worry about this tier yet.

And finally the best (albeit outdated) Beginner's Guide: Polarity's Guide in Going from 1* to 3*. Unfortunately a bit of the end got lost when we moved to the new forum but his tips are apparently still pretty spot on.

And of course, if you have any questions feel free to ask. Good luck!

    Your friendly neighborhood fight4thedream ゙☆⌒o(*^ー゚)v

I'm not trying to be rude, but your number is off.

    It costs 69530 iso to level a 2* from 15 to 94.
    Another 5000 iso to champ.
Not selling 50 2* covers costs 12500 iso.

    69530+5000+12500= 87030 iso cost for a level 144 2*.

    65000 iso for selling a 2*.
17500 iso in 2* champion rewards.

    65000+17500= 82500 iso gained from a level 144 2*.

87030-82500= 4530 iso loss on entire process.

For your 4530 iso you get 3 3* covers, 5 heroic tokens, 5 command points, and 375 (250 in champion rewards + 125 from selling)  hero points.

I have 2* farming down to a science.....

You forgot the cost of the first 13 covers. 13 x 250 = 3250 so the total cost is 7780 iso.

Never thought to consider the first 13 as you can't have the rest without those, but I will stand corrected. My science was off

And being able to admit when it's off is a big part of what makes it actually science!

I just wanted to thank you all for clarifying my post with solid math =).

I was initially going to do it all, but was about to sleep at the time and didn't trust my ability to accurately arithmetic ;)
