Would you recommend MtGPQ?

I'd put myself between 2 and 3. I still play regularly, but it would be very difficult for someone just picking up the game now to dive in and have as much fun as I did when I started over a year ago.
I liken it to another game that I used to play the hell out of, Heroes Charge. I played that game religiously, and got into one of the top guilds in the game, but soon after it started to seem like a job, having to spend hours a day to compete, so I left the game entirely. Recently, due to all of the unanswered tickets, bugs, and mass duplicates issues, I checked back into the game. The game is so far ahead now that even picking up where I left off was impossible. I lost almost every battle I tried.
I think it's a difficult thing to try and balance, keeping people engaged that have amassed so many in-game rewards with someone coming into the game with 0 rewards. The tier system is a nice attempt, but it should be based on wins and the cards you have, not how much you use all your different cards. The rewards should be higher at the lower tiers but as you gain cards and rewards you should be automatically upgraded to the next tier, and as some people suggested on other forums, the top competitive players should be grouped together. I should never see an all mythic Koth deck that kills me in literally 2 rounds as a casual player, because nothing will make me take my time and money elsewhere faster.1 -
1x Star: Recommend what??? There is no incentive to log in. I already have nightmares of Duplicates haunting me.A year ago I was spending money and literally recommending this game. The core game design is still fun, even if poorly implemented, but the monetization scheme is now unacceptably aggressive.0

5x Stars: This game is awesome. I'm telling everyone who remotely seems into mobile games.Yes, I would and have reccomended this game!
But it also need some context.
When recommending the game, it would be as a free to play match-3 version of MTG. As a match 3 game it has some interesting mechanics that largely adapt MTG well, and gives it a lot more depth than these games usually have.
In addition, the game features a lot of growth for new players and offers a lot of variation for them, as well as giving a pve element where they can safely develop experience and earn their first packs.
There are regular events which encourage varied deckbuilding and which you can largely play at your leisure.
The most important factor is that it is a true free to play game. I have reached the top of competitive endgame whilst being basically free to play (my only purchase was 100 crystals for a walker needed for coalition event). The game let's you play as much as you want, without paying a single cent, unlike most mobile games.
Paying players does not have a huge advantage and you won't get run over by Mr. Mcmoneybags from the moment you step into PvP. The game gives you a lot of free cyrrancy, and all currencies can be earned with simple time and effort.
As a casual game which you can play without paying, that has depth and shows some respect for its IP, and with a great community, I would always recommend this game to anyone looking for casual fun and looking to start out.
New players are not the endgame or competitive elite. Most glaring issues affect the top echelon of the game, even if they shouldn't be there at all, and are not very noticeable for the new player. Would I envorage them to sink massive amounts of time into it? Not really, but they don't have to, it's up to them.
Would QB and improved rewards go a long way towards making it more appealing for the endgame and those who love grinding for hours? Yes!
So much has gotten worse, but that doesn't change that I would still recommend everyone to try it out, and be confident that it has se great things to offer compared to other free to play mobile games. At least you can't pay to get past a 10 hour reset timer, and only get good cards if you pay 50$ for the "elite pro golden pack".
I'm not saying the game is perfect, I'm saying most games are worse and that I would always encourage new players looking for a mobile game try it out.
Now bring back QB! That alone would fix the biggest problem of this game IMO >< booster crafting is nice, but not as vital as having endgame stuff to do that feels worth doing between events!
Come on! As a new player, not yet feeling ready for events that seemed scary with few carda, QB was the " main game", and you completely removed it!

I'm curious to know what profanity existed in such an upbeat post lol.2 -
3x Still Not. But I do manage to play regularly. For some it actually was.
I know people who quit because QB was removed.0 -
3x Still Not. But I do manage to play regularly.More people than I expected to quit because of the removal of QB.0

3x Still Not. But I do manage to play regularly.Qb was like playing candy crush on unlimited lives.
It was a fun time sink. I'm sure an entire category of players played this game just for the genre.5 -
uhhh I was just pointing out where the profanity was: "QB was the tinykitty"0

3x Still Not. But I do manage to play regularly.I know, but it doesn't make the statement untrue0
