Hooray the Hunt is OVER

You know, the first few days of this event, I really enjoyed it. Great, funny story, scaling hadn't hit too hard yet... You got to be Devil Dino! And snicker like a gradeschooler about Bullseye going in the backdoor. I was thinking it was one of the best events ever.

I was looking forward to new maps opening up, but when it was the same maps again, I started to feel slightly disappointed.

Then the scaling. The horrible scaling.

The multitudes of repetitive maps.

By day 5, I wanted no more of this, but I had invested too much... I wished I had never started, but couldn't bear throwing my hard work away.

So I ground out the remaining 5 days as The Hunt ground out what remained my happiness and enjoyment.

This was definitely the worst PvE event I have played, in my opinion. How did everyone else feel?

  • Meh. It was bad, but I mean PvE is supposed to be grindy and repetitive to some extent
  • It was ok if you had C.Mags with 5 blue.
  • Seconded as worst ever PvE I've played. At least with the same maps 3 times in a row on simulator you get different enemies. This was just a grindfest drawn out to 11 days to give the devs time to do whatever they are doing at the moment.

I was surprised in the first rounds when it opened 3 subs and 2 of those were "Secured" for 12 hours. But I thought, ok, so it's a 2 day cycle 6 times for the event. Maybe it will be like the Hulk where the available subs change each round. Cool. Then it just started over. For 6 cycles. And killed 2 of my weekends. Not cool.

These long events should be laid out more like the Hulk event, with changing maps every round to prevent boredom and story stagnation. Seriously how many times did Ironman have to chase bullseye away before he got the message?
  • I know I'm celebrating it's overness, it got grueling round about the middle of the event...yeesh.
  • God, that event was like a war. By the end of it, I didn't really care about who won, I settled for top 20, and was just happy it was over finally.
  • here here. glad this 9 day slogfest is over.

    marc
  • "You again..." as an opening line of node dialogue became rather ironic
  • -Throws confetti in the air-

    Yeah!

    -Balloons drop from above-
  • i just want my rewards adn some sleep.

Worst. Event. EVER. Need rest and comforting.
  • Heck YES I'm glad it's over! Different maps with different lineups each time would definitely help. Everytime these multiple day events get over I feel compelled to play the Ramones' Strength To Endure. Initially I act like I don't mind grinding it out for multiple days but as previously stated it becomes stagnant and eventually just pisses me off.

The Heroic modes were worse, but this event and its overall disappointing prize (Falcon) is really starting to show that they really have nothing good to contribute beyond shiny new carrots to add to the already 50ft stick.
They are really stretching the **** out of this minimalistic content. I cant be the only one sick of fighting the same 3/5 combination of enemies over and over. Daken, Ragnarok, Daken, Ragnarok, Daken, bullseye/venom/theGirl, Ares, Daken, Ragnarok. over and over and over. Can we move past this Dark avengers arc, so we can get some fresh villains?

After whatever slog-fest gives us BrokenDaken Im gonna skip these repetitive PVE's

i think the problem is that its called Dark Reign and not something like Entire Marvel Universe. Others and myself believe they should release new villains as there are too many heroes.

Except that Dark Reign had more villains than heroes involved in the storyline overall
    there's really no excuse ;(

The Hunt was bad but nowhere near as bad as the Heroic events.

Venom heroic was worse, but the hunt was not far behind due the combination of this extreme scaling with this exhaustion/repetition.
But there is a great thing about this event: right now, I feel like I am on holiday!!

I think this event was too long, I think events should be 5-7 days long, not more.

Then having more enemies would be great. We strongly need more enemies, and not just Gold Daken. We need people like the Sentry, Iron Patriot, etc. I really don't undestand how these two, being the most important villains of the Dark Reign Storyline are not in the game.

And of course, 400 lvl enemies is a big mistake. When mine were at 290 I stopped playing agains them. A 171 Gold Thor Call the Storm makes just a little scratch to these enemies, and is one of the strongest attacks in the game :S

PD: But at least I was top10, so not a terrible event after all...
  • Same here. Midway I made the decision to just quit PVE playing for good. This is more than nuts. This event Put together all the elements we hate, combined them all and added a 2x multiplier. The contrast is especially high as I recall the previous run, Hunt for Ares was quite a joy all the way.

So unless drastic changes are applied to PVE this is the last for me.

I figured it will not even be such a problem as having the new character immediately is only advantage in the next PVE, ergo complete dropping it leaves you with just the time and rest you gain by skipping the bulshit.

I finished #1, and alliance got #3 -- the 20 tokens this far provided 20 ** ****, I'll open the 8 remaining ones in the evening, expect to maintain the 0 *** count despite the supposed phony drop rates. Worth it? NO WAY.
  • I dunno which one is worse, Heroic or the hunt
In heroic you had to use limited roster, which was ok to me, at least you didn't need to do it everyday thanks to rubberbanding, and the scaling was not too crazy. I didn't even see 230s by the end of it.
While in the Hunt, you had to clear each node in both subs at least 1 time, which was more like a chore, not fun at all. Well, the iso is good, but 300s? 400?! The amount of iso I'd spent on boosts might even can't be covered.

Devs should really consider shortening the PVE events to 7 days at most, especially with unchanged subs coming over and over again.

Oh, and I must say this: WHOEVER CAME OUT WITH THE IDEA THAT BROUGHT 230S TO 400S SHOULD BE FIRED IMMEDIATELY!!!

Still better than the brutal heroics
Plus now I'm sitting on 50K of ISO trying to figure out what to do with it so that's appreciated
