  • I don't think that anyone reads our Alliance chat board (except maybe Yanos), but I wanted to let my team know that, unless there's a sizable break between Season 1 and 2, or some of these scaling and MMR problems are fixed before then (highly unlikely), then I may need to resign my position. The amount of stress needed to compete in this game is far too great. I am losing more and more sleep, and the game is getting less and less fun. In essence, MPQ has become a second job.
With two kids, and the summer season, maybe it's for the best.

But don't kick me yet! I fully plan on finishing Season 1 like a boss, and then maybe waiting to see if Season two is more lenient, or possibly further into the future than immediately after Season 1. That said, Yanos, you may want to be ready to spool up recruitment if Season 2 begins directly after Season 1, because I just cannot with this game's demands if that is the case.

Thanks for reading, and I hope I get to remain an Arch Angel.

    Sincerely burned-out,

    Edward

Sorry to hear you taking a break. Life is more important.

I notice I am also spending so much time on this. Good that the wife hasn't complained to much yet.

Good luck in recovering from season 1
  • Six, you beat me to it, but I was going to post a similar message. Season 1 has burnt me out, and I'm going to be taking a step back from playing as much after it ends. If Season 2 starts right away, I'll be resigning my roster spot - I'd love to continue being an Arch Angel but it wouldn't be fair for me to keep a roster spot when I'm playing less and I'd just feel bad about not contributing points to the alliance season total.

Like six, I intend to finish off season 1 with this awesome alliance, and hopefully there are changes coming after Season 1 ends, and hopefully I'll be able to remain an Arch Angel due to those changes, but if things stay the same, I'll be stepping down.

Thanks Yanos, here's to a strong Season 1 finish.
  • I've been looking over all the forum boards today during my work downtime. I gotta say, there's numerous people that feel this way. I think back-to-back tourneys are too much to ask of anyone--even semi-hardcore gamers. Like the Cover Pack nerf and the Rag nerf before it, Seasons--at least the way they're ran now--are a nerf to the human condition.

Ig81 here and I had no clue we had this board until it was mentioned in chat. Six I feel you man, with two kids around finding time to play gets tough ( mine are 4 and 2 ). The new system has us playing non stop. Over the past two weeks I've played way too much. Plus I'm playing more with better characters and scoring less. I'm pissed. But I enjoy the game have loved comics and PQ for way to long. When I found this game I swear it was bliss. I'm gonna wait it out and see if it gets better. Compete the best I can and try to stay relevant. But when push comes to shove it is a game and when it's a chore instead of fun something is wrong. Previously I was in a 5 man alliance solely for daily rewards, joined here and everyone I have met is cool, I'll stay as long as I am welcome. But sooner or later (like when my 2 year old is running wild)I expect I'll be reevaluating. So no matter what any of you do it rocked chatting and playing alongside you. I think what we did was rather impressive for what it was. Best wishes for everyone moving on, and those of us grinding through.
  • You know...I'd be willing to pony up the 2500 ISO just to create a sister alliance for those of us that are burned out. Then, after a particular season ends, and if the burned-out players are feeling up for strong competition, they could ask Yanos if there's a place for them in Arch Angels.

    This would help everyone:
Since the sister alliance is strictly casual, there would be no pressure to play every, or any, event for those in this small Alliance
Members would still receive daily rewards
The main alliance--Arch Angels--would not be hampered by the expat casual players
Options could still exist for casual players to become hardcore for a Season and "main-up" again.

It's not perfect, but it's something, I guess.

Thanks for the kind words, lg81; the sentiment is returned. That's cool to meet another MPQ dad. And hey, mine are two years apart (5 and 7) so I completely understand the challenges you're facing; kids are really a handful at those ages. icon_e_biggrin.gif

That's not a bad idea.. Can commanders foot costs as we'll? Or is a one man bill situation?

Hey guys. Where to start. You may have noticed I myself haven't been talking as much on the game and on here. To be honest it's drained me to the point of wanting to hold down on the app and hit the cross, so I know the feeling! I made Arch Angels so that I could have fun and continue to receive some extra rewards. I had no idea we would do so well! I have to agree though the fun has almost all gone. There's no way I'll be putting in the same amount of effort if there's a season 2, seriously need a break. Same with the pve's. You's have been great, and you're all welcome to stay in the alliance and not play as much. Those who are still wishing to fight for the high rewards are welcome to find a new alliance, I would hold nothing against them for that.

Interesting, I cannot connect to the server but I am still getting attacked. This is unfair....

So after the Oscorp debacle, my realizing that I haven't placed top 50 since the bracketing and mmr changes and my wife getting rightly pissed about the timesink MPQ is, capped off by a 300 point loss for heavy metal in about 15 minutes. I'm reevaluating already. I think I'm going to not bother with season 2 and just try to do the PvPs that best help my roster. Going to do everything I can to help with season 1 but at the rate my scores are annihilated well It ain't pretty. Good luck everyone. Crossing my fingers things get better.
  • Agreed. D3 must be doing really well to not worry about the large number of expats they are about to create.

    Arch Angels info:
Currently at 19/20 members, some of which aren't very active. Looking to encourage more activity or replace.
    Season 3 position = Currently 253, moved between 200-250 with 20 members
The Simulator position = Currently 430

A brief history of Arch Angels:
Two commanders. Formed by myself at the start of season 1, in which we placed #101, missing out on the Nick Fury cover we had all worked so hard for by just one position. To make it even more demoralising, we were a mere 17 points off #100. Based on this a lot of the members, including myself, were understandably drained of playing this game and thus we all agreed to play at a more casual pace that suited us individually. Those who wished to continue aiming for higher rewards moved on to other alliances with no hard feelings from the rest of us. We were constantly in the top 50/100 in all events over season 1 and they wished to continue achieving this.

As commander, throughout season 1 I kept tabs on all scores and performances to make sure we were always on target but tried my best to show some loyalty to the members who were clearly very active and putting in a lot of effort. In other words, I tried my best to not be heartless and constantly kick out the lowest scorers.
Season 2 and 3 have been similar to each other. The usual finish is now top 250, which considering as an alliance we've eased off a bit, is still pretty impressive. It wouldn't take much to start nearing those top 100 finishes again with the right recruits.

    Current Goal:
Current season 3 scores have a range going from 8000+ to just 1000. Obviously this isn't very fair on the higher scorers and I am now looking to replace some of the lower scoring members with people who will slot in with similar scores to those at the top. I don't want anyone to feel the alliance isn't performing and that they are carrying the team or making the effort for no reason.

If you are an active, daily player with a season 3 score of 8000+, Arch Angels wants you.

What Arch Angels will of offer:
All the members I recruited in season 1 were very carefully considered. Rosters weren't important to me, all I looked for is active players with the ability to score high. After weeks of picking and choosing I found a fantastic bunch, many of whom still remain. They all offer great advice when you need it, regarding any matter, and are very nice people. In my eyes they are all capable of being great commanders and I think of them that way.
If you join you will receive a very warm welcome and immediately feel like part of the alliance and you will also be able to relax knowing that you won't be kicked out. I've seen many people join alliances and feel so pressured into doing well, even if that pressure isn't put upon you by the members. (I was in a former top 10 alliance and was by no means a great scorer. I couldn't work out why I wasn't replaced, but I never was. It was a great alliance and I've tried to base Arch Angels on that).

Are you interested? If so give me a message or post here. Maybe you are fed up of an alliance not pulling its weight, or maybe you are tired of putting stacks of effort in just to cope with the pressure of a high scoring alliance and want to relax a bit more. Whatever the reason, all applicants are welcome.

Let's bring Arch Angels back the success it once had!

Any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

    Regards to you all
    Yanos

Just noticed you posted Duffman! We are doing well, hopefully we can continue right throughout the season.

    Also, loving the sig icon_e_wink.gif

    When did you make it?
  • Are you still recruiting for your alliance? I have only been playing for months but I'm starting to get very strong. I have 37,000 points in the current event. I am searching for an alliance that is a top 100 so that I can get additional covers. I think I could be a good addition. Please let me know.

Hey deezledeane, thanks for the interest!

I am currently waiting on a previous member getting in touch with me about rejoining, so as of just now I wouldn't be able to accept you. If he has had a change of heart I'm more than happy to consider you. I hope to find out in the next few hours. Can I ask your current season 4 score and current score on first avenger?

    Thanks
