The Good Old Days

So as i am trying to avoid playing anymore of The Hunt, a couple of us very good looking and stylish Django's somehow started talking about our early days with the game and our best memories.

It took me a long time to get into this game and enjoy it but i think the moment i started having fun with it was when i got IronMan leveled up too a massive 50. I was like "muhahaha i am the master, now you shall all be defeated by my ULTRA FREON BEAM. It only takes 19 blue, pewpewpewpew I WIN."

That was the moment that got me hooked and i owe it all to my precious IronMan. I am deeply sorry i sold you though, but we can still be friends.

Then this forum has made me laugh constantly and i have met some great people here who are all awesome in their own way, heck even you Klingsor.Thats another reason why i stay and enjoy the game. Now if you must excuse me,these onions are making my eyes water.

So what was your first WOW MOMENT?

The first time my Modern Storm went on a giant ability-cascade-ability-cascade-ability-cascade-ability-cascade-ability death cycle.
  • When I beat up lv 240 Jugg/Rag/healer goon in Hulk event with lv 30 mStorm/mBW/Wolvie. It was long, tiresome, "every turn might be last" and painful battle, but that feeling when Jugg dies finally...It was perfect. Oh, and getting my first Punisher as event reward was really good - to know that you've got enough wit to do this with quite weak 1* team. Ah, that were good old times.
Except for Rag. I hate Rag.

When I realized pre nerf wolvie meant I could play forever as long as I still had two, living characters to be his teammates.

I was to write something like that, 240 jugg/rag and something (maybe moonstone). I recall I couldn't beat them with the green-feeding mook though. icon_e_smile.gif
  • When I finally got a decently covered OBW and the lack of health packs was no longer a problem. Thanks to OBW I could've played as long as I wanted.

"OHHHHH, characters have POWERS that are fueled by TILES! I can tell Iron Man to go BOOM-BOOM if I get enough red tiles!"

That was, ahem, not on my first day playing MPQ.
  • First Rage and Ruin. It was the first PVP I ever won. I started leveling up Ares pretty much immediately, so I had one of the highest leveled ones I'd see, plus he was super-boosted, plus it was the golden age of shields and I was able to make it up to 1400 points. Someone overtook me late; I broke shields with five minutes left, and got my first ever 4*.
  • In one of the events, I don't remember which one, I had lots of fun Headbutting opponents to a pulp. I didn't have a 2* team then I suppose.

Well, I guess for me the breakthrough moment was getting my pre-nerf Thor maxed on covers, and almost maxed on Iso (about level 75, I suppose). Firing his red-yellow-green sequence turning the opponents into nothing more than a steaming pile of corpses - that was so enormously satisfying. To wield such power! Ah, good days, indeed.

I was pretty hooked before I ever knew there was PvP. I had such a blast with the prologue. Then PvP started and I got sucked into that hole...
  • Guess this one's weird, but seeing the Classic Storm cover for the first time. A favorite cover of a favorite character from a favorite X-Men era.
  • Day one, when I downloaded it and thought "Wow a new Puzzle Quest game, only with Marvel characters, and it's free?!?!" and then looked into the 20 point skill levelling system and thought it was really awesome. Then I think my first cover from a heroic pack was X-Force Wolvie, and wondered how lucky that was. It's been generally downhill from there.

Hah. I remember this too. I thought that Ultra Freon beam was the be-all-and-end-all of damage dealers. It smacked for a good amount and if it wasn't enough it was a stun too? Sign me up.

Of course, that feeling didn't last long, though for some reason I resisted the switch up to Thor as long as possible.

I think probably my biggest 'wow' moment though was when I hit a top spot in one of the Thor tournaments-- pretty sure I scored two or three Loki covers for that.

...because, you know, Loki is so awesome.

    Ah well. SOON.
  • the pre-nerfed cStorm Tempest - when both sides had a cStorm, it was like a watching a TV on the fritz until everyone was dead. and everyone dead means you won,

...and remember when you had THREE tries to beat a team in PvP, and they carried over their damage to the next match?
  • The first time I used Spidey/Venom to eat the entire team.

Seeing as how baddies go up to 400 now, I think its good a time as any to bring back Venom's old insta-devour ability. BUFF VENOM.
  • The worst thing you could do is stop playing. Once you stop playing you forget all about this game and its knocked off your priority list. I undownloaded the game like 9 weeks ago and now the game is B O R I N G and seems even more repetitive.

Stop playing for more than two weeks and you'll see what I mean.

"Here's the worst thing possible. Go do it." For someone called "Unity," you sure bring a lotta discord. icon_lol.gificon_e_biggrin.gif

The obvious solution is to get back on the wagon. Obvs.
  • When I joined my first pve. It was the original simulator that gave out psylocke. I had no idea what the events were and just thought I should try it. I had a lvl 6 moonstone and lvl 6 daken that were boosted and I thought they were the best lol. I went on to win two psylocke covers and she's still a favorite of mine. Also winning my first pvp. It was a couple weeks back. Can't remember which one but I was pumped to get first and win an IW. Good times. Good times...

My "biggest smile" moment happened one day on log-in. I'd collected 44 standard tokens, and when I opened Puzzle Quest (Android version) I discovered that 33 of them had magically transmogrified into Heroic tokens. I have no idea if there was a "silent lottery" and I won, or if it was a system glitch, or did Providence stoop down to save me? Who knows. Second happiest moment was back when the lightning rounds offered covers, and I was hoping for two classic Magneto covers. I'd never bothered fighting the whole 90 minutes (usually I would just play up to 100 to get the progression rewards and forget about it), but I wanted those covers. I was sad to finish in 11th place, but it must have been in the last couple of seconds I won a defense, which pushed me to getting the two covers from the top 10 reward. Good stuff!
