Upcoming weekend event

@Lagartha
The developers are anticipating making a few adjustments to node settings for this weekend's coalition event, based on the community's feedback. They are still however waiting on QA to fully test the event after the adjustments are implemented. I will comment once QA has confirmed the adjustments.2 -
Thanks for the update! =D0

OMG, D3 actually has a QA department that tests events!? It hasn't shown so far... Always seemed like that was outsourced to the players.3

Boooooo. Four hour charges are too much. Way too much.0

@spesler
So far it's been a close poll, but you should add your opinion here: What Are Optimal Node Settings?0 -

Hi Everyone. For this upcoming Trial of Zeal, the Max Node Charges will be set to 6 charges instead of 4. Everything else will remain the same as the most recent previous iteration.

@Brigby
Thank you. I didn't see that poll. Even if option 1 wins the most votes, it will be interesting to see whether the various "change recharge time" options combine for more votes. For example, I voted for four, but would far prefer 2 over 1.0 -
Not sure why we should be happy about having to play twice as many games each day.
And no, you can't just let the nodes fill up, unless you want to be the one bringing down your coalition because you have 9 games of points sitting there when the boss dies.

UGH! While the higher max charges are welcome, I still disapprove of the 4 hour recharge timer.
And no, @Brigby, it isn't really a close poll. While the individual preferred option might be contested, almost two thirds of the voters (blue+purple+yellow+pink) agree that the recharge time should be changed/increased, almost the same proportion as those who voted to have the max charges increased (red+blue+green+pink). Why do one change and not the other?1 -
Devs, @Brigby please make the at least last two days based on the current users. It ends way fast!!!
The event just ended around 25 hours later. It is really unfair and just like we had an event ends too fast. I did not even get the first free AMK pack. I am so disappointed whatever d3 implemented since the UPDATE. Most of the changes are cash grab and do not care the players. Beside that, the game crashed in one of the node. I sent out the support ticket, and the respond is someone will reach out to you soon.... This used to be a fun game especially the weekend events, after the standard rotation, D3 really forces on p2w model. if you do not buy enough packs or have the RNG gods blessing to open some powerful mystic cards from reward packs, it will be better depend a lot of luck to beat Node 3.1, 3.2, 3.3. I understand I can't win them all, I might lose some games. Overall experience changes after the update.

The 4 hour charges are way too much! I spent my whole sunday playing this game to make sure i didnt lose a charge before the game ended, great way to burn me out!
The extra max charges are welcome, but I'd like a return to the the 8 hour charges5 -
I personally like the 4 hour recharges on such a challenging event.
I do think they need to rebalance the boss' health so the event lasts longer. While I was able to beat the 3.x nodes twice, I still only scored about 600 points.
That didn't account for the multiple crashes during the event I experienced (as well as others in my coalition - seriously - fix your game). Even with the 75 points I would have got had the game not crashed, I wouldn't have got to the 750.

The problem with events like these is that there is inevitably a section of players who will struggle with the tough bosses and whose main goal will generally be to achieve all progression rewards, and some others who have the decks to deal with them more or less consistently, and who will likely be playing for a coalition competing for prizes.
Because the total points of the event are shared across all players and coalition competition puts pressure on their members to get as many points as possible, pretty much the same proportion of points will go top players and struggling players, regardless of what the refresh timer is. Therefore, only the total boss points will ultimately influence whether struggling players reach their personal rewards or not. That and, of course, how many points are required for each.
From what I've been able to gather, the total points of the events are already on the high end of what competitive coalition players are able to tolerate. When the refresh timers are 8 h, people get annoyed that the event stretches well into the following week. When the timers are at 4 h, people get pissed off at the intensity of the weekend time investment required to stay on top of the nodes. There is just so many times one can go through the same matches over and over during a weekend, especially after one hits the maximum personal reward.
If D3 wants to help struggling players without pissing off coalitions, it's not the total points nor refresh rates that they need to modify, but rather have lower progression requirements for newer players, so they can reach them with the same share of the pie as they have. It makes no sense to require the same points from a platinum player than from a silver one when the challenge they're facing is exactly the same (unlike in PvP, where they are, in theory, facing approximate "equals").

I completely share this point of view (note : I am in a coalition that cares for coalition competition).
8 hours : event is too long
4 hours : it is an insane grind
There must be a way to play at a normal rate and to end it on Monday on average, for example.
If you guys above want to allow more players to reach all rewards, the solution would be to lower them a bit again, or to adjust them by tier

By the gods, please change it back to 8 hours so we can look forward to playing the matches instead of dreading them.

This event is kind of a lose/lose, honestly. 8 hour charges suck for people struggling due to the rather steep difficulty spike between nodes. First node is an absolute joke, but then things get real in node 2. Node 3 is a nightmare without cast out, but then becomes mind numbingly boring with it.
4 hour charges suck for people that want to do anything other than play the game on the weekend.
This style of event is obviously here to stay, but this one just fell apart. I'm not completely turned off by the 4 hour charges, but with progression being so high, it feels like a chore. I should throw it out there that while the difficulty level isn't a problem for me, it is obviously a problem for a lot of players. This event is pushing a lot of players away at a time that we really can't afford to lose too many more. I'm all for staying positive, but this event just isn't fun. It never was. The first time through it felt impossible. By the third time, it felt like gold fishing. We need something new0 -
Um... six hour recharges?1
