Why is this closed?

Are the devs afraid the only comments will be "That's nice, tell me when its no cost"

By the way. It nice you're reducing the cost. Call me when its free.

    This is valid. It might now be worth it for gold though

    Are you seriously debating over whether it's worth it to buy boosters at half price? 

    At this price point it's worth it for any tier. Unless you don't intend to buy anymore boosters.

    Do you just rely on event rewards and daily packs or something? 

    That's actually super impressive

    600 crystals big box = 14 packs + 1 rare+
    600 crystals equivalent promo totp = 20 packs

    it's good value for any who need the cards and
    can win at least one battle each time. and it's
    at a low price point, pretty much everyone can
    enter.

    I'm right there with you. Might be the best thing they have done in a while. I would dump 30 crystals all day and even if for some reason I didn't max out and have it free I would see the value.

    I think there's a discussion to be had. My recommendation for new players is to save up for dual colored planeswalkers, at least after they've obtained a certain baseline of card quality. (This could easily be wrong; it's hard to know what numbers to run to see whether Kiora or 2 premium packs is a better investment.) From this point of view, I'm not sure that halving the price of boosters is enough to take precedence over saving for PWs.

    Dont you have to actually play and win at least one game to "unlock" this half price booster ?

    I've long advocated choosing PWs over boosters as well, simply because the right planeswalker combinations can really increase event viability and thereby increase winnings. That being said, if a person can't level the planeswalkers, they're stuck in something of a PQ purgatory, and I think the Standard environment changes things significantly.

    While previously a person could sit on their handful of power cards and conserve crystals for planeswalkers, many people have had those cards rotate out. Because of that, I think it's healthier to strike a balance between premium packs and planeswalkers, and more strategically target future acquisitions.  Otherwise, competing in Standard events is going to be extremely difficult.

    Supposedly a premium pack (300 crystal one) has better odds for rares/mythic pulls, and contains a guaranteed rare.  Is getting a lone normal booster @ half price if/when you get a win more valuable than saving up for the premium pack?

    Is it true for a new(er) player vs a seasoned platinum with a large collection?

    In the case of Amonket, at around 45 commons and 20 uncommons, your odds of getting a new card from a pack drop below a 50%.  Two color PWs start looking much better as you get more cards.

    Great change, I also hope they keep it this way.  Completing for your crystals back is easier than the few times I ran this event before also.
