Is this really the intended objective for Liliana 2's Arena level?

That objective is named Sorin's Fight.

Something something you wouldn't want to play with the same boring decks.  Something something

Maybe the responsible person for the objective was a 14 year old girl who finally finished the twilight series.
Maybe the decision was made by an ape, clearly under the influence of psychodelic substances.
Maybe its just random from black nodes of older events..
The only thing obvious is : whoever decides the objectives of this event doesn't know or care about the roles of the planeswalkers at all, and doesn't know or care about the 100% negative feedback of the community.

This objective isn't even hard at all, it just doesn't fit to the spirit of lili 2.

    What the hell D3?
Vampires for the zombie planeswalker? Do you even proof your events anymore?

That plus the Garruk objective is lots of supports, I think they didn't update objectives since the Sorin/Tezzeret Planeswalker arena. Though I gotta say, I like it. Makes you actually think about the deck you're putting together. Makes it so every Liliana deck isn't a clone of each other.

Maybe they listened to our pleas for them to change up the objectives. They are very good trolls.

That's actually a good point, and if they're busy all day long getting rid of the bugs we've faced.. Understandable and a good thing.
Since the communication is meh, again, we'll have to guess.
The lili decks I've faced until now all looked the same by the way, and nearly exactly as mine

I changed up my Liliana to summon vampires... maybe I'm alone in this ;)

    I did so, too.
One spell, the maximum of supports and the rest vampires - but there are not so many useful vamps you could choose from, so the result are comparable decks :D

I haven't seen one Liliana summon one vampire, not even a Kalitas, who would actually have some synergy with Liliana.  Or an Olivia, which people can't seem to help jamming into all of their black and red decks.

The difference between placing #300 (out of a 500 player bracket?) and #51 is 2 yellow things and 2 purple things, so I don't think too many people are going to go out of their way to optimize their deck.

I'm fine with this if it means they're working extra hard on Amonkhet or something.  But I have long felt that secondary objectives in this game are chosen at random, possibly using blindfolded chimpanzees throwing darts at scrabble boards, but more likely, a less scientific method.

    That Liliana vampire objective.

And summon 4 or more creatures for a pw whose 3 abilities are all about token creatures, wow!

Believe me ignoring the optional objectives is the key to happiness.

either way 6 in and enraged match is hard as heck guess
they want to make sure not many get perfect scores this time

Right.  It's already a bit of work to hard-cast 6 zombies in an enraged match, so why make it vampires?

Based on Wereotter's observation, I don't think they actively chose to make it anything. Most likely they assigned the new PWs to a pre-existing event template and didn't even think (care?) to look at the objectives.

They should really have 1 or 2 people who no matter what are responsible for keeping current events going well, and they frequent these forums to see what we think as well as going and playing the events as well. That'd make things soooooo much better. We can dream right?

    It's probably a mistake, but I like it! :-)

Reached it once so far only, but still it's quite entertaining.

I've got my 8 cheapest vampires, Behold the Beyond and Journal in there. My deck is undefeated on objectives and everything so far. XP

It may be ridiculous, and is probably a mistake, but with how terrible the rewards are for the amount of effort the event requires, it's kind of fun to just go all-out ridiculous for once.

These events seem to always involve an objective that your walker wasn't designed for. Like play a bunch of vampires with a walker that says zombie everywhere. Enjoy!
